I was heading towards a station and a ship "materialized" (Disengaged Supercruise) right in front of me. I hit him and got a 200 cr. fine. HE POPPED OUT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

I suggest we all call the constables wherever the Devs live and have them ticket them anytime SOMEONE HITS THEM!

Maybe THEN they'll figure out how stupid their C&P is. I may even buy a airline ticket and fly over there, rent a car and run into every one of them, then tell the cops "It's THEIR FAULT! THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE!

Stupidity just pees me off. This IS STUPID beyond reason.

If you got a fine then you were in the no fire zone and you were exceeding the 100m/s speed limit. If you stick to the speed limit you won't get find even if the ship you hit blows up.
If you are in such a hurry that you just have to fly faster than the limit, then expect there to be consequences, and as consequences go, 200 cr fine is pretty minor. I think that post may have been a bit of an overreaction.

Really? Where the hell does it say I'll get a fine for going over 100 m/s if I hit someone? I could have been going 5 m/s and still would have hit him.

It makes sense, but how the holy heck would anyone know that? (if you say it's in the C&P Document I'll eat my Joystick!)

And no, it's not an "Overreaction" dad. Oh, can I have the car keys? I have a hot date. I promise I won't go over 100 m/s! If I do, I have a copy of your DL so you will get the ticket.

Oh, and I love the signature. Probably really need that with these posts.

"Joking" about vehicular assault on game developers over a 200 credit in-game fine that was 100% your fault is probably not going to do you any favors.

"100% my fault". I love your thinking! Remember that the next time some idiot pulls out right in front of you and flips you off because you honked your horn because they almost killed your family.

If someone is driving 55 in the fast lane "because that's the speed limit" someone may run them off the road, pull over and eat their brains 'cause stupidity tastes good (and there's one less idiot on the planet)
Not me of course, I hate the taste of stupidity.

No kidding! In Washington (that place above Oregon), if you want to go fast, you stay in the right lane, not the left. Everyone's Dad is in the left lane, making sure no one speeds.

Still waiting for someone to tell me where the hell it says I'll get a fine for going over 100 m/s if I hit someone (that materializes 10 meters in front of me) 6 ls from the station?

And I'd love to see your videos of you going 100 m/s 7.5 ls from the station 'cause that's the speed limit...

Here you go. If you're within the no-fire-zone going over 100 m/s and collide with somebody you get a fine. Not saying other ships should pop in like that though - that should be changed.

Also, you're probably not 7.5 ls from the station. That would be like two million kilometers and well outside the no-fire-zone.

You also get a HUD warning light, above your fuel gauge, where it says - in quite big writing - speeding.

SO tempted to troll you but I'm a bit worried about your blood pressure OP.

Maybe instead of complaining here report it as a bug? It could be running in hot and at the high end entering a station. Which would be your fault.

In every state in the United States (and in many a country outsside of the US), if you get into an accident, even if someone else causes it...if you were speeding, YOU ALSO are at fault. Because going faster than the speed limit means you made the accident worse than it was already going to be. This isn't a new concept, and FDev just incorporated the concept quite sensibly into the existing framework of ED.

technically the other ship is at fault since it disengaged into close proximity to the player. meaning that it was coming at an approximate 1000 Mm/s. and i can see why he is mad, if the station doesn't have a interstellar factor in the station he is going to be locked out of the necessary features from the station which is the developers fault. does he need to be ranty? probably not; but what he says technically speaking makes sense.

In modern day technology you can also pay for your tickets online. but in the distant future not all stations have this basic function. he is probably mad that if he pays the ticket he is going to transported god knows where away from his destination to detention ship, delaying his progression. the devs could easily implement universal interstellar factors for all stations, but that would smart feature. frontier do not do smart they do Grind

well this is just one of many issues that is the devs fault; this small event is probably the culmination of a serious of game mechanics.kinda like getting stuck on the mail slot even tho you are perfectly aligned . and people get threaten for breakfast anyways, he is just probably venting and using exaggeration to get a point a cross.
