Engineers Let's talk Engineering Odds, Legitimately

The image you just posted made me sick. I know a big number of healthy PvPers which didn't have a single module removed, me included, because you know, they are not filthy cheaters.

You leaving? Fine. Don't forget to close the door as you leave.

Its unfair sdc has claimed on that reddit post that all the pvp community was cheating.
They're showing themselves up for the cowards they always were by trying to deflect and spread their guilt on to others.

Better. Maybe open will become usable for the many, not the few.

This is my hope as well. The whole point of this thread tbh. If the cheaters want to remake their fleets legitimately or try to prove their claims that "cheats are irrelevant" because their "skill > gear" then I look forward to their return. But if they are unwilling to compete legitimately, then they were always going to be a drain on the game anyway, and good riddance. ;)

ah the cheats are leaving. the posted on reddit translated to: "elite just got dangerous for us since we now have no choice but to fight fair (and we all know we suck at fair fights)" :(

Ryan must be coming out in solidarity with his wounded comrades, I'm sure I saw him say he didn't have any exploited modules the other day. What a marvellous gesture.

She still lives. :) But I digress...

As for the Ding Dong moment, I'll trust video, stream and screenshot evidence over a Discord statement.

If that was me being accused, I would have shouted from the rooftops that the discord image was a fake, no video evidence needed. His silence says it all.

That screen capture is a bit of a LOL - sure I'd agree FD need to be a bit more understanding of the time thing, but at the same time, using the exploit as a big slap in the face of respecting other peoples time in itself.

Z...

I think we'd be naive to expect any sort of remorse. I also doubt that many (if any) of them will actually leave.
And while i of course welcome that FD took action, the problem is just swept under the rug for now.
They will search and find other loopholes to exploit (if they haven't already), we shouldn't underestimate the "criminal energy" behind that sort of "players".
The salt harvesting threadnaught in dangerous discussions will only spur them on further.

Fdev need to monitor all these cheaters to see how quickly they get their super rolls back. They should of wiped out the cheaters mats as well.

Another note. I get a warning from Mods and my post deleted as I called them Cheating Scum/Scumbags. Yet others I see are allowed to get away with it.

Some of them have already mentioned having access to other serious exploits. Now that Frontier have a handy list of cheaters it would be a terrible waste to not use it to find the other ways they cheat.

The forum has been moving extremely fast in the past 24 hours. It would be easy for posts that might usually be deleted to go unnoticed if nobody reports them.

I agree that it's important for Frontier (and the community) to stay vigilant. For all their bluster though, I kind of doubt that people who cheated will be in a hurry to have their accounts penalized again. They could lose MUCH more the next time around as repeat offenders.

If you believe their prior posts, there are "much worse cheats out there" and we can assume they've already taken advantage of them, and may perhaps be using them still. If they were engineer related, then likely they lost the benefit already with the recent remedy. But if they use these cheats to regain their mods again, I suspect the next time they get caught will be their last.

I also doubt that many of them were actually affected by the Purge, and may possibly be making themselves look vulnerable in order to gain the element of surprise.

At the cost of any PVP reputation they had, being blackballed by gaming media and being the laughing stock of the entire community... not sure the element of surprise is worth that much..

Well that is clearly some karma justice you don't see every day.

Also if it cools down obsession with engineered PvP it will benefit game whole.
