Let's talk glitches

I don't know about anyone else but I've been running into these glitches rather constantly recently. Some of these have been around since the beta so I'm surprised they still exist:

  • No path to destination (when there is one)
  • The send to the wild and storaged centre option disappearing from the animal panel when you click on them.
  • Keepers not filling up the water bowls
  • Animal delivery failes to a habait or quarantine for no reason
Does anyone else experience these or have anything different?

Keepers not filling up the water bowls
How about keepers not doing anything lol. I swear to god I kid you not every time my horses die because the keeper walks in, goes “the animals in habitat 6 are happy and don't need food at the moment” TELL THAT TO THE PILES OF BONES ON THE GROUND 💀💀💀

Yeah experienced every single one of these and they are just one more nuisance to add to the pile of things you have to deal with every zoo. Generally I find the larger and more complex a zoo gets, the more often you will come across these.

No path to destination (when there is one)
Simply it is failed pathfinding. This can be a range of things like unpausing the game, rebuilding paths, deleting and replacing the habitat gate and ensuring a staff member is actually free. All of these do one thing - recalculating a route from A to B.

The send to the wild and storaged centre option disappearing from the animal panel when you click on them.
Save your game and restart the game fully. That's the only known fix for interface glitches.

Keepers not filling up the water bowls
Likely keeper is overworked or pathfinding in the habitat is not working properly. Better idea is to either use a water tap which is self sustaining or dig a hole and add water to it so the animal can get an infinite source of water, just remember to keep it clean.

Animal delivery failes to a habait or quarantine for no reason
I find this is down to simple pathfinding again but is weirdly harder to solve than the no path to destination error. Find your animal box, send to building and watch it, the staff will suddenly drop it for some reason. Either send it to a new building or spam the delivery button and watching the animal slowly get there until it reaches. Or just restart the game, sometime the game needs a fresh breath of air to solve this.

If most of the glitches are caused by pathfinding, the developers should really do something about it. My zoo is getting pretty big so reloading it each and every time they happen will be so time-consuming and frustrating. As for the interface glitches, it makes the game unplayable for me as it happens so quickly into a relaunch of a game file. Doing it through the Zoo animal panel is consuming because of how many animals I have.

I've also not mentioned the climbing frame requirements resetting to zero! Get again my zoo is getting rather big and I have a lot of climbing animals. You can imagine how long it takes to go around deleting and then redoing that delete.

Omg, I had the same problem with my Emu's. They were dying due to hydration but the Keeper's kept saying they were fine but they weren't. All three of them died which of caused protestors

I had one where my Binturongs suddenly couldn’t fit through a door or use any climbing items so their space requirements were halved. Was super annoying.

I can only imagine these issues are difficult to solve by the developers. And as was mentioned, the bigger your zoo gets the more likely you will run into these problems. I also have these problems, but way less since I bought a powerful gaming laptop. I also noticed the issue with animals swimming through objects (walls, rocks,..) is still around.

I also have a high powered gaming laptop but these glitches are still happening constantly. I also feel like it shouldn't matter how big your zoo is. But yet again, building large zoo's have always suffered which is a bit disappointing. I mean what's the point of having a creative game if you can't go pass like thirty enclosures?

True, off course it is more than just the size of your zoo. There are plenty of things you can do to improve game performance: not play videos on billboards, use few special effects (waterfalls, smoke etc), just have less animals and guests, reduce or not have transport, build with less pieces..

So many limits though for a game that promised to let me build anything without any...
