Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

I wish I could speak with the guys that flipped Balandin. As i recall, it was only 2 dudes who were really working on it. I have a theory about non-lethal weapons and how they should be managed. As of now, I have only been bringing them to CSG owned stations either just for profit or to complete a CSG mission. I have also brought non lethal weapons to other stations but only for CSG. I want to know if they were bringing in non-lethal weapons into the then federal commodities market or just through missons for CSG.

Wouldn't it make sense to make the weapons available to the people of Adamson or Prinariu via their direct market? Those stations are federally controlled but the population gets their stuff from the markets. Perhaps flooding their market with weapons is the way to incite civil unrest? :S

I'd to remind you that I had been operating from the two inner stations as well, spending as much time betraying the LFE as I did helping the CSG... mostly because searching USSs takes time. When Balandin flipped, I moved to Hartsfield Market. Don't know how much of an impact I had, because my time in game is limited, but I did help.

I doubt this ...

Here, Michael didn't say that flipping minor stations is necessary but that it could be a simple boost in influence. Go figure :D

I believe the boost he is talking about comes from the general trade that happens in that station. Trade boosts the influence of the station's owning faction. The more stations CSG owns that have markets, the faster their influence will grow.

I believe it's hard for us at the moment because most "passing trade" in the system is going through LFE owned stations. Don't forget that this passing trade is a mixture of NPCs and players too.

Downs and ups..we are gaining power again :)
But cant say from where the one missing 0.1 % comes..maybe rounding.

Crimson State Group 66.0%
Lugh for Equality 31.7%
Dominion of Lugh 0.3%
Lugh Defence Force 1.7%
Silver Natural 0.3%

At least we are back to 66%. Anything going up goes a long way to player confidence. let's get out there tonight and make LFE pay for even dreaming of fighting back.

Crush them!

Just happened to sneak in a couple of missions (while at work) out of Knight Dock for non-lethal weapons. View attachment 8532

I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you!

I'd do that too but I'm so chronically crap with keyboard + mouse that it's too dangerous.

Regarding the negative aspects of getting GalNet coverage: unless the Fed supporters start a rival thread to organise things I can't see the effect being very long-lasting. However if fellow indies do find our thread then I hope they'll see that this is a fun thing to be doing and stick around!

Now that we have it confirmed that the economy and basic trading does affect the influence the question that is on my mind is what about the black market? Does that damage the economy of the station? I am thinking it probably does. If we could get an answer on this we could find a way to hurt LFE big time!

I would assume that the black market means that it's a market without law and for the purpose of unlawful activities. I've been with the movement for so long now that the meta is that trading at the black market in the Hartsfield is bad for our cause. I wonder if it's not.

Well if goods are available without paying tax on them they damage real world markets. It creates competition for customers. The question is though what does it damage? Does it damage the overall economy of the system or does it damage basic trade of that station. If it was the later then you could hurt LFE by dealing in black market goods in their stations.

It is impossible to know answers to questions like this. Hartsfield has a black market and I am nearly sure Adamson has one too. If this was possible that would be two lovely scabs to pick at :)

Gosh, that is a good thought! Kind of tricky to test. And can I speed-dock my T6 Hauler quick enough not to be scanned with 100t of illegal cargo?

Meanwhile, here's version 3 of the logo:

I've brought the planet in to make the small planet (the broach that was a circle) fit more convicingly. I'm liking this - it looks like a ringed planet but also a spear.
Oh, and a bit of an outer glow. For orfeboy (IIRC). And no lens flair - I don't go there anymore!

Wow, that looks really great! On another note, i did a mission earlier that required me to take a message from our boys to Sesuang, it increased our influence and boom but reduced my reputation with CSG. What's up with that?

The three stations in Lugh with black markets do happen to be under LFE control: Hartsfield Market, Cavendish Ring and Adamson Enterprise. Earlier in the thread, I was pondering finding a source for personal weapons and battle weapons, then off-loading them at the black markets in Lugh. I haven't yet, though, because I don't know which faction it would benefit.

I'm in an Asp with 72 tons of cargo space (currently filled with illegal goods I got from USS's to hand in for missions), and it can sneak into stations regularly without being scanned.

One thought would be to start trading like this and monitor my reputation with LFE. If it goes down, that's an indicator that it's hurting them - if it goes up, it indicates that it's helping them. Unfortunately, I'm already hostile with LFE (and the Federation at large), so someone with a neutral reputation would be able to tell more quickly.

Nice idea with the Planet. Looks nice :)
How does it look like if you turn the small planet 180 ° ?

It could just be that a black market bypasses any effect on the local station as the station authorities are, in theory, not seeing any profit from it. I can't see that it goes to another faction (which faction would it go to after all?)

Based on this theory (that at worst it makes no difference), it might be worth using the black markets.

There is a possibility though that the black market would help the owning faction - it's still money & visitors coming into the station after all. The more I think about, the less likely I think it would help LFE. The question is, is worth the risk??

Hmm, I don't think that would make sense, I'm guessing it would look like the starlight was heading in two directions. I've tried such artistic licence in the past and it has never ended well for me!

Got room for one more? :)

Commander Tailonyx reporting for duty.
I've been out exploring since day one so I do have a bit of experience but my slow internet connection can lag out on me at the worst of times...... or the instant escape from interdiction harpoons also happens from time to time.

Anyway I'm docked in Knight Dock preparing for some missions later, looking forward to flying with ya

Love the logo! It's a really small touch, but when a logo has been designed for something, I'm interested... shows commitment :)

I'll bumble over there tonight and give it a go - I've become rather good at Speed Docking my T6... I'm pretty sure I gain an unfair advantage with the Rift here; I can judge the gap a LOT easier!

Note to those interested - a T6 will easily fit sideways through the gap - handy if there's traffic!

EDIT: If you guys flip the system, you should set up the annual Lugh T6 Speed Docking Challenge to comemmorate the date :D

I tried hauling some illegal cargo earlier too, it went really well except that I forgot to ask for docking permission, went into panic mode inside the station and lost 25% hull because I had silent running on so I took heat dmg+ran into some walls :D well, maybe next time. Oh and I was fined too of course ;)

EDIT: and the repairs cost me 80k btw...
