Nobody will, after all the crying and whining on Steam about people expecting Horizons free, there will be no more paid expansions, that's finished with and LEP owners get the shaft again.

If I were a disgruntled LEP owner, seeing that Frontier are just about to finish the current season and will in the coming few months probably start dropping hints as to what they will be doing going forwards, I would probably wait a bit before going ballistic over completely unfounded fears that all of a sudden Frontier has found all the cash they need to fund the game and they wont force people other than yourself to buy future expansions somehow.

FDev said there will be content in 2018 that LEP holders will get free. That's what I was referring to. Quite clearly, this is said content. Or are you suggesting the LEP entitled you to the free Beyond updates that non-LEP owners got and you're happy with thay deal? You're a much more charitable individual than me.

LEP holders did get all the Beyond content and features for free. They also now get a few cosmetics, something that wasn't part of the LEP initially.
Also, the LEP doesn't entitle you to force other users to pay for future expansions. It only entitles you to getting those future expansions for free (or at no additional charge as somebody will no doubt want to point out).

I don't own a LEP btw.

I thought it was a nice gesture by FD. The true value of the LEP will be when the servers go down, till then I am comfortable with the fact that I don't have to justify each payable add on.

Its not just the lifetime xpac.. They've baited and switched so many times.. Alpha access, KS stuff not met, etc.. I wouldn't mind if they just honoured the spirit of what they said but they didn't. Its possible its why most of the ships are named after them.

He just doesn't care and its a shame because it would cost the guy nothing to make sure all those who supported him, when he had his begging bowl out, were taken care of. I really don't understand how people can behave this way.

I think everyone is waiting for the next big thing to hit Elite Dangerous, be that planets or spacelegs etc. Me - I am only, and have only ever been, waiting for landable planets. I dont really care about anything else that goes on in the game. Which is why I havent been paying much attention to the game for the whole of last year.

If they are not going to develop planets etc we should be told. All many of us really want is landable planets to make it into the game it used to be with Frontier Elite II and Frontier First Encounters. That's all I want, to be able to land at surface installations. At the moment the game feels so cold and empty taking place in dead space and empty stations. I think planet landings with bases, city views, maybe a few people milling around, would make it feel a lot more alive.

I think its about time Frontier told us what plans they have for the game - they are being very secretive and enough's enough. I dont know why they are always promising stuff that never seems to materialise. But all this space legs, boarding, hunting, Powerplay, wings, etc - nobody has asked for any of that! That was all suggested by Frontier themselves during the Kickstarter and after - all those plans and so little has been done.But let us hear what they are doing with it, let us hear the plans Frontier please.

Because with this mediocre pack of free stuff for expansion pass owners and this free 'Chapter Four' mediocre stuff, it really feels to me like you are getting ready to dump the game big time, to call it a day. It's not looking good at all. It's about time you stand up and tell us where you are going, if anywhere, with this game. And if it's going to be dumped next year we deserve to know so we can all move on and stop expecting miracles to happen.

£200 - 5 years ago. A.k.a. £40 a year. A.k.a. Less than a pound a week.

How many hours have you played the game for?

Without the early backers, the game would never have got off the ground so it would have been £200 wasted.
Instead be thankful that there were enough like minded individuals that meant the game cane into being.

Frontier have given something to you, free, that they will charge other people for.

They say lots of things and I know from experience they are also pathological liars, or at best duplicitous. I really wish I didn't have to write that sentence but here we are. :/

Do you know what the funny thing is.. They were selling this idea during KS of being a 'founder of the Elite' and despite everything the only tangible thing was the special gold decal. It took a serious amount of complaining for them to even honour that.

Truth of the matter is those who kick-started ED didn't kick start ED, they kick started Frontier. I wouldn't mind but for the way Braben behaved afterwards.

What really es me off is that all of this continues to cast a dark shadow of a project I supported and the game I wanted to play.

I'm not mad bud. I'm just commenting....you know like a forum is for. I don't really care tbh. I just think it's a rotten way to treat people. I acknowledged many people are evidently satisfied with the situation. I just personally think those people are soft for letting themselves be taken for mugs. But i wouldn't tell anyone they're wrong for being satisfied.

To be fair Jammie gets annoyed at lots of things he doesn't have a clue about - he was irate about the treatment of people who raised beta bugs, despite not raising any himself.

Next he will probably be livid about mac support being removed, despite not having a mac.

The simple fact is that season passes are invariably a waste of money - they are never worthwhile buying, ever. With one exception - my son got an expansion pass for Ark and saved a load of money on the last expansion. I think thts the only time Ive seen an expansion pass worthwhile. And its only been worthwhile because he plays Ark constantly with all his friends, and they released three good sizable expansion packs. That very rarely happens.

UM - Frontier existed WAAAY before Elite: Dangerous as a very successful business..... and the kickstarter funds were a drop in the ocean on the cost of producing E !

as a LEP owner, i still enjoy playing the game since 2014.
Can't say that about many other games... actually Elite is the only one.
I bought Dayz for 20cr some years ago and felt much more fooled than the LEP

Well something is better than nothing so we'll have to see. You know I never wanted to feel bitter and angry with David Braben. It has always made me feel sad, frustrated, and disappointed because back in the day he was one of those people who was someone to look up to. Hmm..

Anyway bud, take some advice from someone who has been there, use your time for something constructive and positive. It doesn't do us any good to bash our heads against the wall
