hey guys,

I'm wondering, i bough the lifetime pass during the Alpha, but i never received any CD-key for it (though the order is present in my account management)
Will i be able to enjoy my pre-payed extensions on Steam ( or even without) with no key?

upgrading from horizon to lifetime expension pass?

Hi,
I've just a question in mind, i own already elite dangerous (bought the standard beta back in the past) and yesterday i purchased a bit quickly ^^ the horizon season pass, is it possible to cancel the purchase of the season2 pass to buy instead the lifetime expansion pass in any way (like an additional redeem of the value of the season2 pass ?
Thanks for the reply!

The lifetime pass isn't showing up in the store any longer.

EDIT:

Okay, it is showing up. Had to refresh several times. Very odd.

Any one else having a problem ordering the lifetime pass ? I tried 4 times and my order was canceled each time.

I have lots of problems with their store. Try a different browser, and if that doesn't work, call your cc company and make sure they are not blocking the charge.

I bought it last night. I didn't hear about Elite's rebirth until nearly release, and so didn't get a chance to pledge. It was a bit rough coming up with a spare 180 out of my entertainment budget, but as long as there's at least 2 more paid expansions, it will be worth it. Actually given how many hours I've put in already, it's nearly there already.

I'm having trouble justifying the lifetime expansion ($200). Maybe I've got my numbers wrong, or am missing critical DDF information.
.
Horizons is $30. It would take seven expansions of this price to warrant the lifetime expansion. How many expansions worth of content could there possibly be?
1) Horizons
2) Passengers
3) Walking around
4) Thargoids
5) FPS/boarding
6)
7)
.
Wouldn't it be better just to buy them as they come out?

Yeah - I have the lifetime expansion as part of premium beta, but if I hadn't, I personally wouldn't buy it now, simply as there are some future expansions I don't have any interest in it (e.g. all the walking around and FPS stuff). I sincerely hope the lifetime expansion pass doesn't force me to install them.

Doubt Thargoids will be a paid expansion (getting dragged into witchspace on an exploration trip and fighting an enemy you'll most likely lose against whilst you simply could not buy the expansion and be perfectly safe? Nah...).

The lifetime pass is for EDH. I think FD said yesterday if you purchase it will not let you play ED. (Sounds wrong to me)
I think they meant if you bought any of the pre-orders now (including the LTEP) and you don't already own ED then you wont be able to play ED until Horizons is launched.

Could someone clarify.

Does the lifetime pass come with an account? Or do you need to have a copy of ED? I mean can a new player just buy the LT pass and be up and running right away?

The beta status, does this affect ship insurance as it does with all the other betas?

From the store page
"For a limited time only, players will be able to purchase a Lifetime Expansion Pass granting access to all current and future Seasons of Elite: Dangerous."
As for the insurance issue I don't know.

Edit: I read somewhere yesterday in one of Michael Brookes' posts that the current release is effectively season 1 so that would imply that a new player should be able to buy the LTEP and be up and running immediately.

You guys surely show great trust in FD.Personally I never pre-order.
I'll see the actual content and then decide if it's worth my money.
Fingers crossed.

The way I see it what I'm actually pre-ordering here is every single expansion that FD release over the next how ever many years. While it's true that I don't yet know whether those expansions will contain a host of goodies or a pile of poop, I'm expecting it to be a mix of good and bad, some of which will only add to the experience and some of which I'll try out once and never bother with again. However it works out, the money I've just given to FD will go towards their development fund, and will (hopefully) allow them to make bigger and better things for the game's future.

I made my commitment via Steam, bought the game obviously plus three paint packs up until now ( and am contented to support FD via new paint pack per new ship) So a few questions, or advice needed Cmdrs/Devs:-

i would rather pay cash via PayPal than use credit card, so will the pass still be available in about two weeks?

i know that I'd get a Steam Key generated - but couldn't I import the new game into the Steam Library anyway ( if it's release is months before Steam release) or do I just have to be patient?

Perhaps FD would consider permitting a discounted purchase of an Anaconda (50% on credits) and load it out with A Class FSD/Power Plant and Distribution. That would be a nice sweetener that costs FD nothing but generates considerable goodwill!

As I understand it, from the various posts on here and from the answer I got from FD Support yesterday, if you sign into the FD store with a steam-linked account then when you buy the LEP it automatically adds the new content to your game as it becomes available (or at least, adds an 'update' button that you have to click when the content becomes available). No need to add anything to Steam, as it's all handled by the Elite: Dangerous launcher.

Here's my personal take on it.

I paid $50 for Elite: Dangerous, and another $180 for the Lifetime Expansion Pass for a total of $230. For that money I got an actual, released game that I've already put around 500 hours into, and access to all of its future content. For the sake of comparison, I have $300 invested into Star Citizen. That money gets me a game, and two ships - in theory. Star Citizen is still under development, and while I believe RSI will deliver, anything can happen.

Let's be honest. Elite: Dangerous has its issues, and the core gameplay has worn somewhat thin at this point. It's still the best space sim I've ever played, ranks around #3 on my most played games of all time list, and I still want to play more. I would play more, or at least more frequently than I do at this point, if there was more game there to play. The best way to ensure Elite: Dangerous gets more development time, to ensure that the core gameplay is expanded upon, is to support Frontier. So I did.

How about the original lifetime expansion pass from last year?

Horizons itself is a one year season, you can't buy the individual updates on their own.

Anything that says 'lifetime' includes all future seasons.

Edit: Ignore me, I see what you are asking now. If it includes beta access to future seasons

Can someone clarify? Does the $50 Lifetime pass include Beta access to all expansions?

Hello Louis,

thank you for getting in contact with us. I would be more than happy to help you out with this!

I have processed the refund for you for the pre order of Horizons for you to either purchase the Beta or even the Lifetime expansion pass! And to answer your second question, yes the lifetime expansion pass does include all beta access!

You should see the refund appear back in your bank account within the next 8 business days.

I hope this has answered your question but if you have any other inquiries please let us know and we will be able to assist you further.

A couple questions I think only FD could answer:

Forgive me if it's been asked and/or answered already, I'm a bit swamped and can't finish reading the thread yet, but will the lifetime pass be available until Horizons is released, or is there a shorter fuse on it?

I'm very happy to see it return by the way, even at a higher price point. I missed it by a number of days during the beta.

Pt 2: I can accept atmo planets being in another season, but can you give us some hints/previews on what will be available on ED:H Day 1 vs ED:H day 365?

How about the original lifetime expansion pass from last year?
Or the LEP from the KS. Unless I've missed it, I've still not seen a definite answer to that.
I have the impression that there could now be a two-tier LEP - but hopefully, I'm wrong.

Got the Lifetime pass during Kickstarter or right before 1.0? Come brag here!

So a look at my Frontier Store account shows that my game costed 40€ plus an additional 40€ for the lifetime pass, for a total 80€. I could not imagine how big of a bargain it would be :D

Please don't, there is really no need to "brag".
