Man wouldn't it be great to have a single limpet controller, with a reduced number of controllable simultaineous limpets, and just buy different types of limpets instead of having to clog up internal slots with 3 or 4 different types of controllers?

No need for different types of limpets

Just have limpet racks (like fighter/srv bays) which can have multiple controller types in them, then use the exact same system we have now for setting them to fire groups.

I would prefer a universal limpet controller. A size 7 limpet controller would still controls 4 limpets, but one can be a prospector and the other 3 collector. Or 1 a hatch breaker and 3 collectors or whatever combination of 4 limpets you want. As Drelthar said, just pick what's what with fire groups.

It's a software package for limpets. Same goes for flight assists. It's a software upgrade to combine planetary landing, advanced docking, and super cruise assist.
