limpits that don't pickup materials that are at capacity and sit idle.

when players are mining the collection limpits will grab a material, and if that item is at its limit the limpit will idle. a different and possibly much easier solution would be allowing players to jettison the extra materials to allow the limpits to continue functioning. this seems easy and would really help miners in the feld.

You can vent (purge) ores from incomplete bins to allow waiting limpets to deliver their cargo. This is why larger refineries are useful; you don't need to vent so often, if at all.

Took me a while to learn about the venting mechanics... As Bongo said, go for a large refinery. Having at least 8 ore positions is very helpful.

The refinery is unrelated to this guys.
edit: also the ignore function now does auto venting, ditch your large refineries

Discarding materials only got removed recently.

I wonder if the auto ignore will help when two limpets are on their way to fetch the same material, with the fist to arrive going over capacity. Surely the second will once again be blocked without a discard.

YinYin, I think the OP is not about materials (as in after a destruction of a ship), but ore mining. Also I wouldn't ditch a large refinery so fast, unless my cargo space is very limited and I'm hunting for one or two things only. Let it collect all it can, still pays money.

Yes, element materials. They have nothing to do with the refinery.

Also the 3A for 8 bins is fine. Class 4 is where you start really wasting resources.
