Please post here with your diary link(or someone else's) to a complete exploration journey , or one that is currently in progress :)
1. Make your thread title catchy, as that is what I will put in the list below.
(Put as much info of your journey in your 1st post as possible, not many will trawl through all the pages)
2. Story must be on these forums, not a link to another site.
3. Pictures and videos help immensely.

If you want your CMDR name here, either sign your article or PM me please with the same account as your diary thread(I need a reference to your article and a Cmdr name please) as I can't assume your Forum name is the same as your Cmdr name.

Are we supposed to name people? I suppose its okay in this context. The thread Around the Galaxy in 80 days is by CMDR Maia Posidana, who is, I believe, currently out in the Outer Arm.

I wasn't 100% but thought his forum and in-game chars were the same , ty :)

This is a great idea. I've always been in favour of the community taking an interest in preserving a games' history. Whether that history of events is official cannon or purely player created. Its something I'm surprised FD haven't done themselves with the introduction of dedicated sub-forums covering purely exploration stories, or a combateer forum where pirates and bounty hunters can share their adventures, and places where people can see what player run events are going on without having to wade through pages of unrelated threads to find them. General discussion swallows everything and some great stuff players have put work into is often lost to the depths in to time.

For example, I would love to see a dedicated explorers forum some day.

Anyway, dognosh you should try and dig out Zion Ravescenes thread of his journey to Sag-A* from November during the gamma phase of EDs development. I'm sure it inspired plenty of players to take up exploration at the time.

I also think R4nger0's successful crossing of the galaxy in a sidewinder a couple of weeks ago needs to be preserved. Although I don't think he actually had a dedicated thread that he updated his progress and documented his journey in, it is at least mentioned in the 65,000 LYs from home thread I made in January.

I've got another personal entry for you that precedes the 65K LY thread, its a documented journey I started in November and finished in early December. A 29,000 LY round trip along the Orion Spur and back: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=70588

Like Allitnil I use same name in game as forum :)

Journey's on again on the second attempt. First failed with a 38% damaged hull Hauler which is now parked forever in Jameson :).

I made a blog early this year, but there may be two small problems:

a) I'm currently not exploring and therefore there is no new content since February. But I plan on doing something again in about a month or two.
b) The screenshots are universal, the texts are not. All in german, I'm afraid. I leave it to you if you wanna add it under a special (foreign) category or just ignore it. ;)

DSS Shackleton Explorer - retired to Aulin Enterprise after the New Horizons expedition (Dec. 3300).

DSS Beagle - retired from service and remains unrepaired. Currently berthed at Alten Mines after returning from a 144,000 light year round trip to the far galactic rim (Distant Suns expedition Dec. 3300 - Feb. 3301).

Gypsy Moth was my Hauler Explorer that I first tried the circumnavigation, she managed around a 2000ish jump, 30,000LY journey in trying to get round the circumnavigation so I think deserves her place in Elite History and to lie peacefully with 38% hull at Jameson Memorial.
