RCT 3 PC List of easiest issues to patch?

I didn't develop the game so these may not actually be "easy", but this is what I hope can be addressed soon, and would seem to require the least amount of time.

1. Longer selection windows. Even with the minimal icon option, it takes an awful lot of scrolling to get through the ride selections. It doesn't even need to be re-sizable (though that would be nice)... just maybe the full height of the screen resolution (see pic further down).

2. Suntan lotion bug fixed.

3. Maybe a tweak to peep AI so they are more apt to get in line for rides. Queue management is fun! :D

4. Peep cam that doesn't require the renaming of a peep. My niece wanted to see everything at eye level... but she's not adept enough to rename peeps everytime she wants to get into "walking peep mode". So I guess the nicest way to handle this - would be to have a keyboard shortcut a person could hit which turns the mouse curser into an eye, and then when a person clicks a peep, they see what that peep sees.

5. Now this wouldn't be for my niece or the younger crowd... but I'd love the game to be "tighter" ie - more challenging to make money. I really love having to work hard to make money in a game. It's quite rewarding (except in MMORGS).

Thank you :)

I definately agree that the window should be taller. Particularly if you've downloaded loads of custom scenery. Either that or there should be more filters to sort through the objects you want e.g. for coasters you could have steel, inverted, wooden & water as well as mouse, launched, ones that go vertical etc.

Much agreed for the scenery window size. Especially for the Scenery Items one, as the majority of them are just single peices.

Yes - taller windows would be better I agree. I'm embarrassed to say, but I can't remember why we didn't make them bigger - I don't think there's a reason.

As for making the game harder to make money, I don't think that would be a good idea - I can almost hear the howls of protest already!

I think that the current level of difficulty of the game is fine, but bigger windows would definitely be a plus. It really gets annoying, especially if you have very many custom scenery sets and are using multiple sets for a building.

Peeps who use transport for transport, not as a ride.

They already use transport rides for that purpose as long as there is a station near where the peeps want to go, although they will sometimes use a transport ride for fun as well. You do have to ensure that the transport ride has sufficient capacity and that it generally isn't as efficient as the peeps walking to their destination.

So are they never using the transport rides for you? Or is it some cases? Is the transport network complicated?

I found that basic transport networks work great. Got islands connected by a Monorail, and your big coaster is on another island? Generally, peeps travel to it via the Monorail. However, what bothers me, is the rest of the group just stands there, waiting for the other peep to come back. You get alot of standing peeps around the Monorail station. There should be some sort of trigger, that says that if a peep is X tiles away (or disconnected via a transportation system), that they can roam on their own.

I find this happens a lot as well. The other peeps should go with the other on the monorail and wait around the coaster. Or, better still, the peeps who don't want to ride a particular ride could go on another ride nearby whilst they are waiting. Peeps should also go on the rides more frequently, as I find with custom groups particularly that they just spend half their time standing in a cirle.

I have found that peeps "wait for group" a LOT. Causing a lot of standing around and not riding rides. Also, I still have the problem of peeps ending up in an odd part of the park "stuck." This happens when I close a ride with peeps on it. But then I have to individually click on each peep (usually 20 or more) and place them on a path because the rest of their party is just "waiting." I hope this can get fixed.

Michael, you can have 5 stations, but if only one or two members of a group want to ride the rest will stay at the exit of the first station. We have been going on about this bug ever since the release of Rct, but you guys have never listened to us on this.

A Group of 3 peeps, two use transport ride a to get to other side of park, 1 peep stays behind waiting at station one exit, other 2 hop off at station 3.

The peep who waited at the exit is "WAITING FOR GROUPnow the other two peeps wait at station 3 exit, can you guess what happens next, one of two things. These two peeps either make they back across to the peep waiting at exit 1 or they tooWILL BE WAITING FOR GROUP

Now which ever way you look at this, this does not work the way you tell us it does, i have changed the way i play ( which takes all the fun out of it, but hey me bad for thinking this game, maybe fun ).

How do you fix this, well.....

While i'm on a soap box should i start on the "Suncreen Bug"..!

I've seen this happen with the paddle steamer I'm using to ferry guests to and from an island. The steamer is the only way to and from the island.

If I may I would like to suggest two possible alternate behaviours for the groups when they get seperated by using transport rides.

1. Ideally, the whole group should use the transport ride. (But this should only apply to transport rides, since I myself went to Fiesta Texas last weekend and did some of my own "waiting for group" while my friends rode some of the spinning rides which tend to have higher nause ratings.;) )

2. If the whole group will not fit into the ride at the same time, then the guests that reach the destination first should "wait for group" after they exit the ride. Then, the rest of the group can catch up. And if that happens already, great! I really want to stress suggestion number one though.

The underlying problem here Michael is that many amusement parks also use these rides as scenic rides too. Perhaps in a future update these rides and especially the water transports will have more of a ride nature than just as transports. Case in point, the original water transport boats would have made excellent Jungle Boats if they could follow a track, perhaps an invisible track. Chairlift yes transport, but also a scenic ride too. Well maybe you guys will do some changes in the future if RCT3 ever does go back in the design stages.

As far as the peep-cam goes, we don't need any interface change at all. We just need to double-click on the little round thumbnail of the peep, just like how you coastercam a ride. It fits with the way the game works now, and it makes a lot of sense.

Yes, this is a excelletn variation as well.

A proper peep cam would be great. Even better would be a peep cam which you could control yourself in a similar way to an fps, with the arrow keys to move and the mouse to turn.

This is definitely the way to do it - the FPS controls would be the easiest way to control the movement. They're universally-accepted and they work well.

The peep cam is one of the most important new features we need, and I don't think it would be that hard to implement. Maybe use a little bit of the dune-buggy code or something. All it needs is a small collision-detection function that keeps the camera ~5-6 feet above the nearest object beneath it. I don't mind if we can't actually use shops and stalls and whatever - I want the peep-cam primarily so I can walk around the park and look at my scenery/layout. If we can get even a simple, maybe even slightly buggy peep-cam, it would be better than no peep-cam.

Before adding any new features, issues that hinder game play should be fixed first.

I am sorry but adding a peep cam, should be way down the bottom of this list, not saying i don't want one.
