List of largest known stars

KY Cygni - I visited 16 January, but Growle got first claim credit.
1062.7913 solar radii, EXACTLY 5000 ly (5 Kylies) from Sol.

I have a Class A Bluewhite Supergiant star that is ~495 solar radii, but it is currently unclaimed. I Just want to throw out there that I found one but I don't want to make its name known until I've gotten home (or died trying). xD

Hey - VV Cephei is unfortunately ingame far from what is listed on Wikipedia and other sites. In ED it is WAY smaller and no sign of it being a binary. ... Very strange.

The size difference is easy enough to forgive, as we don't really have a solid bead on VV Cephei A's size (though it should probably be a minimum of 1,000 solar radii), but it should at least have a binary companion. I understand that VV Cephei B is basically completely obscured by A, but FD should've just picked an existing, credible theory as to B's properties and gone with it.

Okay got that on in the list as well. Don't forget to give us the name :D

Thanks everybody for the help. I do my best to keep it up to date. After 1.3 is released I will do a round trip to the biggest balls in the game.

Fly safe.

double check the galmap system information tab to make sure it is actually an A class super giant, there's a few bugs in system description for super giants where the description is wrong.
oh and btw if it is a B type star then that's a new record!;)

Hey Patau82, I know that book and it's definitely a awesome job done there compared to my little tiny list. I should track star classes in my list as a start, and first explorer ... I will put it in the next update. Yeah but let me know what you have in mind. No job too small no job too big...:)

I have found a procedurally generated O star that has a respectfull size of 149 solar radii.
Gal map description says O8IIIA that should be Blue Supergiant, and in fact it's a huge blue ball, visible as a blue dot even if you zoom the gal map completly out.
But System map description is the usual O type description.

It's 13140,66 Ly from Sol

Thanks for this list.

I have just returned from my first long trip (to sag a*), now I think i'm going on a little sightseeing trip :)

To plan the trip I have putted the system names on the galaxy map. Probably not very accurate, but it will use it to plan my route :)

It's been a while since this thread has seen any light. And I'm surprised but happy to say that the Supergiant in my earlier post was finally tagged by me. 6 months and 2 weeks and nobody else managed to snag it!

Here's the system name!

I now that feeling :) There are few really big supergiants i hope to report before anybody else tags them.

Nice find btw, it is one the biggest B supergiants out there.

Greetings OP.

You can fill the size of 2 known supergiants on your list: RW Cephei (way smaller in the game than in reality) and Mu Cephei (correct size).
