List of other Oculus/Vive Games that are good (v2)

Assetto Corsa just release 1.7 with VR beta support. AA working and it looks great. Way sharper than PCars and IRacing. Quite a few track and car mods out there and coming. I am surprised Steam hasn't moved it into their VR category as it is a great VR experience. It even has the ability to set pixel density in it's Oculus.ini Apparently Vive users still need Revive for now.

Just played dirt rally. Christ!. In terms of vr being a game changer imo ED has a rival. Banging round in my 1960s mini is stunning

@Mad Mike - Wow, tempted to get Dirt Rally now. Have you got iRacing, Pcars or Asetto Corsa as well?

I have a Logitech Momo wheel sitting in its box...

Yes would love to hear how it compares to Project Cars. How they all compare. I feel like one great racing game is enough but if it is something unique then I'll put it on my wishlist

I have all those games and i only play dirt rally right now. Playing with a fanatec CSW it is the most immersive racing i ever did. It is simply that good.
Loving the Alpine btw. Driving up pikes peak in an audia S1 is just crazy too. The sense of speed is great with that one.

Get that game!

Tempted by pcars or Dirt. But like ED I really suspect playing these with just a gamepad would be less awesome.
I started Dirt Rally with gamepad and did surprisingly well. Liked the game so much I decided to invest in a FFB wheel.
Of course it's much better with a wheel (and a bit easier, too) but I'd say the game is worth buying even if you don't plan to get one.
Be warned though: It's a simulation, so with or without a wheel there is quite some learning curve. But you wouldn't be here if games with steep learning curves would put you off, would you?

I was fortunate to have acquired Richard Burns Rally a few years back for $15. With the Rallysim updates of seasons, cars, tracks and scenery it is quite acceptable graphically. We just got an openvr patch that works great. RBR is the best rally physics ever done, IMO and many others. Dirt Rally is a solid attempt by Codemasters to re-create RBR, however, many rally drivers find it a little tame. DR is gorgeous for sure and a worthwhile purchase for fans of rally racing. Besides the only sources, I've seen, for RBR now want about $100 or more for the base game (very rare).

I'd like to see a resident evil *designed* for VR. Go back to those static cameras (like Chronos uses).

My problem with FPS' is motion sickness; though it seems careful camera design can mitigate this a great degree.

My personal list of good games for Oculus Rift so far:

Recommended
Elite Dangerous
Dirt Rally
Edge of Nowhere
Chronos (hard)
BlazeRush
The Climb
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter (sickness prone for some)
Technolust
Mountain Goat Mountain

Worth mentioning but with issues
War Thunder (very immersive but control setups are a bit of a hassle)
Adr1ift (beautiful, atmospheric, but repetitive gameplay, sickness prone for some)
Lucky's Tale (cute game, but I don't like the forced time run / coin collect replay levels )
Alien Isolation (absolutely great, but only works on DK2)

Another game to consider is Aces High III, which is currently in open beta. While I am still waiting to get a Rift myself, I can say that the Rift owners have been very positive about the VR implementation in Aces High III. I too am a private pilot and have tried Aces High II, WarThunder, and DCS. As for the sim aspects of Aces High, I can tell you that the flight/gunnery model is more accurate than WarThunder and the aircraft systems simpler than DCS. If you want eye-candy then go with WarThunder (although the beta is closing that gap). If you want to operate every button and switch on an aircraft go with DCS. IMO Aces High is the best multiplayer WWII aerial dogfighting sim out there.

While I am still waiting to get a Rift myself [...]
Is there still a waiting line? :O
I thought this was sorted now and new Rift orders were being processed in 3 days time?

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely have a look at Aces High III (being a RL pilot myself, too).

One I haven't seen mentioned here yet, not many seem to know about it.

VR Battletanks
http://outofmymindgames.com/blog/gaming-the-system/tanks-for-nothin/

Its Battlezone. The original green vector one. I have spent HOURS in that. If you remember the original, you will love it. If not, see what the fuss was about.

Besides ED, the sims are truly the best VR games. Blaze Rush too, that one keeps me coming back. Gotta fix the pots on my pedals to get the driving stuff going again.

Also, Sublevel Zero has working CV1 support. It's a descent clone, with procedurally generated levels, permadeath and retro graphics.

Is anyone else having fun with Mountain Goat Mountain? I saw that it cost nothing and so I downloaded it. It's quite a nifty little game that's well worth the asking price, a few minutes of my download time.

I've seen this on the Oculus store, but the bit that puts me off is the bit where it's published by Zynga. How free is free?

there are loads banging on about it on the oculus forums apparently its v addictive and there are no money transactions on the vr version, its all ingame stuff afaik

the fact it means you cant get as far is less important really as everyone on that format is on the same playing field

i have not tried it yet

I gave it 5 minutes.
I doubt I'll spend another five on it.

fair enough however i have a different perspective.. i find it gaming crack! so addictive, no P2W stuff in there either, infact i dont think there is even an option for buying in game power.

i am rubbish at it tho.

other stuff, on Steam there is a free MSI experience, its an advert for their mobos really but its worth a look.
