List of player ships with their properties

What about hyperspace jump distance capacity?

That is a difficult question because it varies with not only the ship but also the mass of cargo carried and the equipment fitted.

So flying the Hauler empty most routes are available, more than an empty Sidewinder, but with 16 tons of cargo less routes are available. If you haven't done a jump before I would suggest using the cargo slider in the galaxy map to make sure you can make a jump before actually buying the cargo.

Edit BTW I think all the prices are out. They were posted before Beta and the prices changed then and again in 1.01. The Cobra is about 140,000. Viper 94,000. Also the prices seem to vary, haven't worked out the pattern yet.

Hauler price is out. I just bought one for about 28k at Aulin

All the prices are out because they were the prices in Premium beta, all the prices have changed in Standard beta. I've seen an Eagle for sale at around 12k, can't remember any other prices off the top of my head, but most seemed to be lower than they were in PB.

They were for release 1.0, I think this was a mistake as the prices have been mostly doubled for 1.01.

Exactly. The Viper was an absolute bargain.

A small point but the shipyard now shows what you pay for the ship taking into account the part exchange for your current ship. So cheaper ships show as a negative price, for instance.

Edit - I noticed the price varying for ships as I was flying around. It turns out they not only part exchange the current ship when you buy a new one but also they give you the value of your cargo hold as well. So as you fill the hold the part exchange value of your ship changes and so does the price you have to pay for a different ship. Presumably they also part exchange the current load out and maybe even fuel then.

Ok. How about relative jump capacity? Assuming fully empty cargo holds for all ships and stock hardpoints.

I'd guess the Sidewinder is at the bottom, and the Anaconda at the top.

Hauler's jump is around 7ish unladen, but not much more than a laden sidewinder when completely full. Pretty sure I picked mine up last night for about 18k.

One of the reasons ship prices have changed is because now you get the value of your original sidewinder.

A sidewinder costs around 30k so if a viper costs 90k you only need 60k cash to buy it.

Sometimes the right people get enough cash and test all the ships in a methodical way but thats probably not me. I've only flown a few. I think the Hauler is better than I'd heard. The Viper is great, not just the single jump range but I ran a mission that needed 4 consecutive jumps and it probably only used a third of the fuel.

Yep, ship value does indeed vary from system to system as does their availability. Some systems have no ships at all, one system (can't remember off the top of my head, but I believe it was Aulin or i Bootis) only had the Eagle for sale, and it was around 12-14k Credits.

Another system had more ships (Lakon, Hauler, Eagle and Cobra) and the prices were much, much more (the Eagle was around 30k-40k for example).

So, at the moment, pays to shop around.

But I agree, a list of properties would be nice. Was not happy when I bought an Eagle to find it's unladen Jump Capacity was LESS than my Sidewinders :(
