Live build of Spring Update 1.2 - TONIGHT 7PM BST!

Really nice new content, really like the level of detail on the boomerang coasters. You could've just made a simple chain lift back and let it go at that, but the coaster mechanisms are being handled with a lot of care, it really gives them their own unique feel (same for the hydra coaster swing mechanic).

Also, we will see ride skins hit a whole new level with this collision turned off, great feature.

Any chance we can get new starting maps for challenge mode at some point?

I'll really enjoy the security staff and cameras, race carts, big wheel, and the hydra and new building tools. When this Update roles out, I'll be starting a brand new sandbox map. Hopefully since this update will be rolling in several new stuff to the game, that this doesn't hinder game performance and fps, but I guess they can fix this, with updates, and provide further optimizations in the future. It's a great game. I love the ideas and the graphics.

Just finished watching their YouTube channel. Other things I look forward to, is especially the --> Bakasura ride. The trident ride looks good too. For my new sandbox park, I'll try to stick to a maximum of 20 rides. But with so many great rides, it can be hard to stick with only 20 rides. I currently have a sandbox park with 23 rides (including a monorail), with 6k people, and on 1080p Ultra Preset on full screen, I'm getting 22-34fps but averages 27fps.

What I'm looking forward most to in this update is
- Security A+
- Race carts A+
- Big wheel A+
- Bakasura A+

Thank you so much for this amazing stream! The new content of the new update showed, is absolutely awesome!!! The boomerangs are so real looking and the ability to design track however we like is super perfect! All new features showed are so much adding value to this in my opinion best game ever!!! Hope for a very long life for planet coaster and many more add ons in future!!! This game has so much potential for any kind of addition, to me it seems endless! So thank you Frontier! Wish you all the best!!! [happy]

I've found the same thing. 20 rides really seems the outer limit of reasonable performance if you also want to spent equal amounts on nice scenery and use the entire map. I currently just mentally split a new map into 4x4 quads and then place a distinctive tree in the center of each and plan one ride somewhere in each of the 16 square areas. It's a great way to plan out a performance friendly park. The remaining four I will place as I see fit (or you might omit them altogether for better fps). It's a bummer that you have to choose only 20 from the many rides available but it does make all your parks more unique in that you can make a different selection for each of your parks.

I am unsure if optimization can fix this, would be really cool if the devs delve into what things are most performance heavy and maybe provide certain togglable features that boost fps in parks with lots of rides.

oh :/ I hoped so much, there are more new flatrides like an observation tower, or other classic rides.. and whats with the railroad/path-crossing?
they said in the pax stream, that theres so much more.. and the only new thing is the duelling coaster thing.. all other stuff was showen in the pax stream, or they have talked about it.. I am a bit (just a bit) sad about it.. but okay.. its for free. i should not complain...

the stream was great.. bo and the guys are so funny [big grin]

so.. did you see the new blue benches and the new litter bins in the cityscenario? [cool]

There was overall that was new info since PAX:

- disable collision detection
- 3 new scenarios added
- controller support for camera
- more blueprints
- dueling coasters
- new scenery pieces
- update to search and UI
- New trigger sound effects
- showing the actual CCTV and destruction system thus implemented

So there was much more stuff than we had seen.

I am just grumpy myself because of lack of real change to management. I don't think I will ever get the career mode I would like or the research or plot of land system but those are probably overall my top 3 as for me they would add much more replay-ability to what we have now.

and whats with the railroad/path-crossing?

Andrew said during the live stream that path collision is still being evaluated. Also I don't know transport rides are included with the rides collision or not (we will find out next Tuseday). I believe that once they figure that out, then we will see railroad crossings as we already have ride triggers, and if you place bins onto a path (all the way across) you can block a path and you can place scenery on to paths.

One thing I've been wondering is if pickpockets will even enter parks that have a high park entry. If they are only coming to the park with the intention of pickpocketing, it doesn't really make sense if it costs $60 to get in the park only to get their money back (if the gusts even still have that much money on them).

Maybe in parks with a high entry fee, pickpockets would try to get their money back and still actually use the park and. It food/drink. I suppose even in parks that are free to enter, that there would be a small amount of pickpocketers that are still going to buy stuff in the park with the money, not just get in get money and leave.

Do most players use the paid-admission fees? I find my parks are more profitable with pay-per-ride. The in-game tutorial even states that paid admission is not the best way to make profits in PC.

Either way, I doubt it matters. The pick pockets will probably prefer parks with higher guest counts and since they dont pay for rides the admission fee is something they can easily make back with a couple successful picks

There have been some reports of umbrellas being seen during the stream (either as scenery item icons or in game with peeps)? Is this true?

My guest only pay at the entrance, not for the rides. In my country, this is a usual thing. And it works for the game, but it needs some time to ballance out. Enough time spent, you will have a certain cash flow from the entrance per month. Playing this way, it is kind of realistic because you won´t earn that much per month, so you need to save money for your next themed area or attraction, just like in real life.

I have seen quite a few reports of it... but none of them showed any proof.

I didn't notice it personally, and as long as nobody seems to know where its seen i guess it's best to consider it as not true.

Only believe it when you see it with your own eyes :)

Thank you Frontier for all the great updates. Love the dueling coasters and also the other new coasters. The addition of the security staff dealing with pick pockets as well as vandalism is another great idea, together with the security cameras. This game gets better and better with every update. Pretty much answers the exact question I was logging onto the forums today to ask after hearing about the 1.2 patch. Not the answer I wanted to hear though. Given I'm pretty much burnt out on the toybox aspect of the game, a few more additions to the content aren't going to add any more replayability for me. But hey maybe they'll actually do something with the management in 1.3 right?
...
Right?

Guess it's time I updated my review of the game... [sad]

Yes... you're right. I was really hoping for interesting gameplay changes and I don't think security really adds so much to the gameplay. It's a cool feature, but there's so much lacking on management... maybe in 1.3, but to be honest, I really don't think this will be the case. I wait so much for 1.2 and now, I'm sad to be it's pretty much the same.
