Hi everyone,

As mentioned in our schedule of activity in the build up to Alpha 2, we have a series of Q&A sessions with some of the Planet Coaster teams.

This week I'm really pleased to be joined by the Planet Coaster Animation team. They're here to answer any and all questions that you might have regarding how they bring Planet Coaster to life.

We'll be joined by Head of Animation - Nick Rodgers, and animator extraordinaires Jonny Bygrave and Oscar Paterson on Thursday 05th May at 6pm - 8pm BST. You can get all your questions in early by posting on this thread NOW, and the team will be joining you with some answers very soon!

1. Will the animation of peeps getting on rides such as coasters and Ferris wheel be more realistic? As of the current alpha, they are just teleporting to the seats.

2. Can we see some videos of peeps getting dizzy or throwing up after rides?

3. Will there be a character customization tool in game? Can we create groups or families?

4. Can we get animations of peeps getting wet standing on a bridge where water rides pass thru?

5. Will there be more family style animations? Example. A mother and baby watches as their father and son go on a kiddy ride?

Will we be getting more animated set pieces like the pirate band? Also would you guys consider adding animated ride events like those of RCT3?
 
^ In the same vein, may I ask if there will be animated scenery items that can be timed for darkrides, to e.g. make a certain animation happen when a train passes by?

That burning question aside, I have to say the animations are really top notch so far - looking forward toh ear more about future stuff.

Will we be getting more animated set pieces like the pirate band? Also would you guys consider adding animated ride events like those of RCT3?

I like to +1 this.

Especially considering darkrides or tracked rides. Things like doors opening and closing are almost a "need" to have to make realistic rides.
 
When i saw the people dancing in fornt of the pirate band, which is awsome, i remembered one question.
The item seems to be a coin op item. It looks like if it has a slot in front. So will it be a something where we get more money from the guests?

Will we get realistic stations? Not like in RCT3 where there was 1 gate with people entering but more like those :

I want to know, are we going to get recoloring of scenary and ride in alpha 2? If not then when?

I also want to know the plan for particule effect including ride triggered and Mixmaster?

Last question, will we be able to build inverted peices in coaster so we can build our own special pieces (ex: loop) in the final version?

- Would there be turnstiles at the entrance of the park?
- And would we be able to add our own theme music?

Is it possible that guest animations could be done in a procedural way? For instance, each time a guest animates to sit down, the animation varies just a bit, perhaps in the speed that the person sits down, the arm movement, Etc. This way, you will not constantly see the same animations over and over, but instead, see brand new animations formed from certain variations.

How much of the animation relies on simulation? For example for let's say the pirate ship ride, do you rely on physic simulation or is everything hand-made?
 
That are no animation related questions, but:

Will we be able to let people pay at a ticket booth at the END of a queue? (At the END, because of that nice caching sound whenever one pays. May sound a bit weird, but it feels so good when many people enter a ride/ coaster.

What about stalls from previous rct's? I wann have my stalls, within a burger, drink or a fries box back [squeeeeee]

1. How many coasters are you adding to phase 2 ?
2. Will we be able to build dual-stations and transfer tracks ?
3. will there be lsm launch coasters ?
4. will we be able to build coasters like top thrill dragster or kingda ka ?

Hi guys,

Will there be more mascots in the future Alphas and where is the Dino mascot which we saw in the first trailer? Love the work you guys are doing to this game, keep it up! :)
