Live Forum Q&A - Animation!

I saw in a different thread that someone mentioned that animating rollerskates (For Coaster King) is supposedly a nightmare. Could you explain why?

When I see the "automatic" stairs function, I was asking myself ok it's cool, but what about guests in wheelchairs? Will we have an option to not have automatic stairs and instead give them a ramp to be able to use it?

The middle incline doesn't generate stairs. I mean, there's no way you'd be able to use a wheelchair at the steepest incline anyway.

Hi looking forward to tonight's q and a .
1. Are you guys going to change the way the people react when they are on the rides as well as legs and arm movement and face expressions hair movements also maybe there glasses or a hat fall off.
2. Are we going to be able to change the lighting sequencing on rides or lighting colour. Being able to had strobe lighting to rides at night time.
3. Are we going to be able to change how the ride operates. So we can change between what happens at night or day.
Thanks for the time cheers

I few animation questions.

1) I agree with everyone else that ride triggered pieces would be wonderful and enhance the gameplay a lot. But i'd like to add onto that question and ask if we'll be getting ride triggered lights? Such as spotlights that turn on and off or strobe/move hen triggered? Also adding onto that, what will the options be for lights on roller coasters? Will they be automatically placed or will we have options of different kins that attach to the rails?

2) I don't know if this falls under animations but I'd like to second the game stands (like ring toss etc.) because most amusement parks have these and it adds some diversity to the park.

3) Can we get some insight on custom signage? Some of the drawings have generic text but I'd love to hear how you'll implement custom text into the signs and how much freedom with the style the player will get. Also will signs be animated? Would love to have blinking bulbs or the ability to have a sign spin. Will there be LED signs to place on walls?

4) I know water has been mentioned and we won't be seeing it for a while, but i'd love to hear from the animators what the hurdles they are dealing with in regards to implementing water are/will be. I understand water is very difficult so it would be great to hear the midst of people brainstorming about how that will happen, and as said in a previous comment, if that water will translate to getting guests wet by splashing onto them via rides.

5) As said before, i'd love to hear about what the plans are for guests stopping and interacting with objects such as benches and future objects around the park. Right now guests are very A>B and it seems objects will complicate that (in a fun way) and that would be something I'd like to hear your thoughts on. Will there be guests just wandering without a care? Are there guests who are just there to enjoy the food and scenery and care less about rides?

1. Will there be RIDE PASSES for the park quests to buy so every ride
(and or RIDE PASS MINI for children's attractions only) will be free?

2. Will there be a multiplayer or co-op feature?

3. Will there be Mack Rides coasters like the Helix down below? looks like the Giga coaster from RCT3

4. Will you be able to create a custom RIDE MUSIC PLAYLIST to set on your rides?

1) Will we be getting more building materials for each theme, or get sort of the same type of material just re-textured for different themes? Such as the brown pirate roof in purple (or different colour) for the fairytale theme, this will allow us to make fairytale themed castles/ buildings without being limited to one colour?

2) Or could we have a colour picker so the roofs can be many different colours (This includes the blue flat roof)?

3) Could we get the lights, bench, bins in a separate tab of scenery, because at the moment its is weird to find a light in the props section?!

4) Will we be able to add extra station and cars onto our coasters, because at the moment we are limited to one car and one station?!

Any way you guys at Frontier are doing a great job at this game!
I cant wait for this update and what the future holds! [big grin][big grin][yesnod][happy][hotas][wink]

1. Will ride breakdowns have special animations or just static scenes?

2. Will the park guest carry items, (maps, stuffed toys, waterproof ponchos) that they hold/interact with?

3. Will rides with on-ride photos have a little booth at the exit, where people exiting the ride gather to buy/laugh at/embarrassingly glance over their photos?

Thank you for this game Frontier, loving it for years to come.

1. Is there a line between realism and fun (almost cartoon-like) animations that you guys are consciously careful of crossing? I'd like to hear a bit about finding that balance which sets the tone of the game.

2. A lot of people have been calling for guests not to clip through buildings and scenery that overlap with paths; how difficult is something like that to implement? (unsure of whether that has relevance to the animation team.)

3. Will guest animations alter depending on whether they're enjoying themselves or not?

Make a "laughing clown" a la Blackpool Pleasure Beach!!!!

2. If we will get snow and rain, can you see it on roofs and on the ground?
3. If we will get snow and rain, how will people and rides react on it?
