Placing eyes and shark type teeth to objects dates back to ancient times, one example is the trireme:

I know with decals they tend to mirror which would make this hard to do (I recall the issues with the Founder decal which has both normal and mirrored form), but I am hoping maybe paint/livery/skins or perhaps a way around the decal issue has been found as I think these are sorely missing from the paint shop.
