Local Space Explorers

In relation to my other thread about mining I think I'm going to make a semi-regular point to explore local space. Gives me an excuse to use my DBXP

The goals will be
  • Find pristine metallic rings. Bonus for ones around exceptional planets and stars.
  • Find interesting systems that are neglected by us more aspiring explorers
  • Get lots of data for the Sirius CG

I'll log my findings here, you should do the same and please add me if you want to join me :)

Already out here looking with you.

Im assuming pristine reserves can actually be worn down to major and lower over time if theyre consistently mined, yes?

I'm intrigued by these "explore inside The Bubble" ideas. I do not know if I can handle remaining in "civilized" space for long...but perhaps I'll give it shot when I get back from the Rim.

I found some nice ones the other day: COL 359 SECTOR MV-O C6-2 (A belt) Lots of palladium, platinum, gold and osmium. Most rocks dropping were 40% metal of various mixes.

Unfortunately it's just in NPC range so you may have visitors.

Jardonerre has an ELW and a ternary of Water Worlds (I think they're all TCs, too). That's the one which led me to start checking the frontier "tourism" worlds a bit more closely if I go near one on the way in or out of the bubble.

Today's was Assinda - it has a Water World around the primary, and an Ammonia World and a Gas Small (Class I "giant" with 2.1 earth masses) around the secondary. It's fairly safe for an Anarchy system, or it was earlier today, anyway - the secondary is about 200kLs out, and I was only interdicted once (by something easily swattable) during the entire survey.

Cool, had never heard of an ammonia world in the bubble :)

An Ammonia world in the bubble is not cool. It's scary. We all know what lives on those...

It's a weird one - very cloudy. Also, Ian Doncaster - I think I found you :)

Ok firstly I didn't know that Alioth had Earth likes orbiting a Gas giant. Nice
Same with Phekda
Lastly, He Bo (pronounced huh bwah) has 2 Earth likes with rings :D
