An Islamic NGO is going to post an advertising "Subhan Allah" on 640 red buses during the Ramadan. Christians denounce one double standards while an Anglican advertising was banned at the time of Christmas. ----- http://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...amadan-campaigners-allah-london-a7020286.html

Are you afraid the islamic society could take over? There are many of you in GB. Even my mother in law is totally dull and afraid of that.
But I think, take a chill pill. The best advertisement I have seen on London buses was the one that questioned the existance of God. Great! Liked it.

I always regret seeing any advertisements that try to sell beliefs in invisible magical beings, whatever the brand.
Seeing that type of stuff always makes me feel depressed and hopeless.
I wouldn't want to prohibit it though.

The thing is with London buses is that there are a lot of them. With slogans on trying to persuade you about something. Personally, I have no more problem with a poster telling me that an imaginary being is benevolent than I do with one telling me that one of Hollywood's endless cookie-cutter action movies is worth seeing. Maybe the world would be a better place without the slogans at all, but it hardly seems getting all worked up about. Sadly though, some people are only happy when they can find some trivial bit of nonsense to get worked up about.

Its neither observation, nor argument, you are just simply beign sarcastic instead of arguing.

Sarcasm is an entirely appropriate response to vacuous and repetitive nonsense claiming that society is going to collapse because women object to wearing high heels or because someone has paid to post a slogan about an imaginary being on a bus. If you had come up with anything even remotely approximating to a reasoned argument, it might merit more of a response.

And incidentally there is no separation of church and state in the U.K. - though most U.K. Moslems seem to have little problem with it...

I suspect i going to have some not too nice reaction because of this, but Great Britain also have a hot spot called Ireland...

Incidentally...

To be precise, six counties of it. Divided at least in part over religion, though there is clearly a great deal more to it than a theological dispute. One thing is certain though - Islamic fundamentalism played no significant part in the Troubles. Though come to think of it, if the Northern Irish had all converted to Islam, it might have helped a little.... ;)

There's no such place called Ireland in Great Britain.

(Do you mean Northern Ireland / United Kingdom?)

Right. :) Thx.

But religious dipute is one of the main reason right? They want more freedom to themselves. See? Separation of church and state.

So... You want even more Muslim until they going to be large enough in numbers to start a dispute about this?

No. What I want is to live in a society with neither religion nor state. Sadly though, the prospects for either are remote, so I'll have to make do with what we have, and at least try to alleviate the worst effects of both. Via reasoned argument when necessary, and via sarcasm when required.

Yet... How it's going to be end, is depends on a lot of things.

Are they any different to these upstanding Christian folk?

In all seriousness. you really need to stop taking stories about the UK from American news media. They are always aimed at an American audience and intended to alarm people who probably don't own a passport let alone will ever visit here.

On the other hand, you should take anything you hear about America from a British Journalist literally.

Paris and Belgium.

Get real! The danger is true, and hiding behind sarcastic remarks and denial is not going to help.
