Worth a go. See if you enjoy it, I like it but can only handle 2-3 games before I jump back into the main game.

Be aware lots of players are high rank. Until you play a good 4-5 games and get a k.d. ratio going it will match you rather randomly meaning you may get put with some players with ridiculous skills :p

I have played the pew pew arena twice now.....each time I thought...this was made for to get the xbox lads on board, and nothing at all Elite like.
and its not in the main game OP!

you have to enter it from outside of your main career!....breaks all immersion....in fact I will wager with you that you will fall into a coma after a hour.

or you may like it

Don't worry about high-ranking players, you'll still XP, although it'll take longer. AFAIK FD are going to integrate CQC into the main game further (rather than just earning Cr), with CQC rank unlocking new BB missions. (I'm sure I've heard this being mentioned before.) :)

You sure, haven't heard anything about that. Makes no sense as it is really just pew pew without consequences.

Grats on triple Elite! Rep, CMDR!

Give CQC a run. Focusing on getting my other Elite rankings now, and giving CQC a rest. But I'll pick it up soon and go for quad Elite.

Never did CQC in over 400hrs of playtime so figured I'd give it a few ranks today see how it goes.
Got to rank 10 and will probably never do any CQC ever again.

It is by far the stupidest PVP I have ever done in any game. There is little strategy to it really, it's just a zergfest and whoever has the best hotas setup/spent the most time flying FAoff gets the most kills and wins. Not to mention the broken matchmaking lol, I got to play vs ranks 30s-40s for the most part and 50% of the matches were 2v3 or 3v4s.

It's def not CQC noob friendly. You get shot to hell over and over... and again.

Anyway I got to try the condor/imp fighter, wish we could use those in pve reg game.

Yeah i didn't think I'd like CQC much prior to its release. But lately I've been playing quite a lot of it

I agree with what everyone else has said about the matchmaking. It is very uneven and you often end up with mismatched teams in team modes but it is a lot of fun

here are my highlights from playing so far. I am still pretty noob at it so this won't be super impressive but I had a lot of fun while getting these kills/assists lol

also I'm really looking forward to having the condor in the main game as a launchable fighter. Its so much fun to fly

Congrats on the triple Elite!

As for CQC, personally I enjoy it very much. Please do not mind the people that cry it was created for the Xbox crowd, because that simply is not true and it isn't fair to say that.

CQC is great to jump into for some instant PVP, with no negative repercussions on your main game career. It is lacking in some features though, such as 1v1 and private matches to name a couple. I'm also hoping we will be getting more maps soon.

The first ship that you get, the Condor, is really very great and I find most people still used it even after unlocking the Eagle and Sidewinder, until the Imperial fighter was released.

Would be awesome, but i dont think so. At least not in the near future.
The only thing that really sucks about CQC is the waiting in the lobby. So connecting it to the main game and adding bots/npcs for solo mode would be a great thing.

Although i love pvp and i think i can handle myself quite well in cqc, i think i'll never make it to elite as long i spend more time in the lobby than actually playing the game.

(P.S. Pardon my english)

Getting to level 50 Unlocks a system that has a station owned by 'CQC Holdings co' which has every ship and module.

Well CMDR pale night just got quad elite. Not sure why you wait in lobby so much, I usually find a match within minutes.

Good grief does the man / woman never sleep? That's impressive, and also insane.

As for waiting time, it's definitely timezone-sensitive.

IMO, it's 100% worth playing. Most of the complaints I see so far are people being matched with high rank players. It happens, matchmaking and team balancing are not very good right now. However, nobody is going to beat someone who's been playing for 3 days and 8 hours(*cough*me*cough*) in their very first game. There's a lot of skill and strategy required in CQC when you're playing at a high level. Looks at it like you would any other FPS, like counterstrike or call of duty. You're just not going to be as good as the people who've been at it since day 1, and you're going to die, a lot. This is nothing to be angry about, and by the time you hit lvl 25-30 you should be pretty well getting the hang of things.

Sure. worth playing...
But honestly - not worth it at the moment:
1. Very few players.
2. Matchmaker will set you against advanced players ant you'll be clobbered.
3. No reason to play (The most I ever got from a match is ~15000. More profitable to do trading runs in sidewinder)
4. Gets boring quickly (same arenas, same players, etc)

It has a great potential, I like it myself, but due to FD's mismanagemt it is pretty much wortless now.
Wait untill there are more players/reasons to play CQC..

Numbers 1 and 2 can be very subjective. Sometimes I drop into a match immediately, and other times I have to wait upwards of 5 minutes(or more) to get a full roster for a match. This is subjective.

Number 3. No reason to play, because the most you can earn from a match is 150000 credits? And here I see tons of threads, people complaining about the fact that CQC has any benefit to the main game. Here you are, complaining that the benefit isn't enough. Well, good on you. But you're wrong, in my opinion.

The benefit of CQC is the instant PVP.

You are put in a situation with someone else where you really need to rely on your actual piloting skills instead of stacking shield cell banks and other countermeasures to pad your actual ability.

If you're mad that you got owned in CQC, then I am not sorry. You can't zone out in CQC like you do while you fight NPCs in the main game. You actually have to think for once. And there are pleanty of oppertunities to buff your ship, with clever use of the powerups around the arena.

I'm sorry you are a poor pilot. I'd cry you a river, but I've got seals to club.

oh yeah, I nearly forgot.

Number 4. ... ... ... ... read everything above.
