Sorry. Your sanity is forfeit on any long deep space voyage.
Watching a movie or TV is a distraction that can cost you your ship if you're not careful. I do it sometimes but not often.
I never or very rarely listen to music since (for me) it interferes with hearing subtle ship sounds.
You can join fleetcom and find someone to talk to or meet up with to break up the monotony.

I also have a safety jump macro built in to Voice Attack that automatically throttles to zero upon exiting hyperspace.
Jump!Safety-Jump!
Ah we can jump if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends don't jump and if they don't jump
Well they're are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
And we can jump!
I like that! +1
..... I even wrote a song for that....

Make a list of things you want to find on the way. Then every 10-20 jumps or 500-1000 lys meander around the GalMap using the filters to see if one of the things you want to find is nearby.
And podcasts. Podcasts and music are your friend.

Don't just limit yourself to 'getting there'. Slow down from time to time and have a look around. You might see something shiny you would have missed, or even have an idea for a little side-project.
Besides that, here are a few suggestions for 'distractions' (makes trottling down during the jump even more important):

I always have a movie/sporting event on in the background.
With the game in windowed mode I surf the net.
Always break up journey with some SRV work for jumponium etc.
Always try to finish a plotted route on a black-hole.
Visit POI's en route.
Get in the RP mood.
In general though I just enjoy sitting down for an hour after a busy day and relaxing. For me the journey IS the fun.
Onionhead. GunnerBill do you do the one headphone on one off thing when your watching the tv?![]()
Audiobooks. That is all.
