Looking for an epic single player game that will run well on my system.

Witcher 3, Prey and dishonored 1 and 2 get my vote for your system. Loved all of those.

For slightly older goodness I'd suggest Portal 2 if you haven't got it already.

Mass Effect 1-3
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Mirror's Edge Catalyst
Doom 2016
Alien: Isolation
Portal/Portal 2
Quantum Break
Redout

You can easy play all three Mass Effect games - one of the best story driven space RPG`s out there. I have 300h in ME2 only - its amazing with fantastic characters that you will really care about.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Agree on Skyrim and the Deus Ex games.

I'll widen the net a bit:

Stellaris
Anno 2205
Sunless Sea
Duskers

Oldies but goodies:
Daggerfall
Star Control II
Quest for Gory
Space Quest
Wing Commander series
Privateer
Elite 2: Frontier :)

I'd very strongly recommend XCOM. Older machines might struggle with XCOM 2, but the first Firaxis game still looks great and plays brilliantly.

Along similar lines INVISIBLE, INC. is a minor gem that I seemingly never get tired of.

Thought of another one, now a classic and most definitely epic... How about Half Life 2?? Ok it's getting on a bit, but if you've never played it it's an absolute essential.

The bonus with it being so old it is will run beautifully on anything! 4k/highest settings should be no prob on a 960.

Speaking of HL2 I saw a graphic and gameplay mod on r/pcgaming a couple of days ago that looked interesting. I havent had the chance to look into it but it may be worthwhile redownloading HL2

Can't beat the original UFO: Enemy Unknown (UFO: Defense for the 'Muricans) with DOSbox or the remake OpenXCOM.

Earlier mentioned Ur-Quan Masters (remake of Star Control II) is one of my favourites too.

And don't forget the original Master Of Orion (needs also DOSbox)!
