Looking to move

ok so iv spent about a month in or near starting system but i want to move to a empire faction area to earn towards the imperial clipper in future but the "route is unavailable" and im not sure how to get to system is there anyone who can explain how i get to these systems that are not connected to my area etc

seems it could be enoying to get there but hell why not be fun to learn new things :D

Upgrade your ship's FSD. You will get a longer range, and will be able to extend where you can travel to. If your jump range limit is only 7ly for example... you can only go so far before EVERY other jump in that one direction is 8.. then you are stuck. If you boost your jump range to 10, then you have more jumps you can make. Once you hit 10 or so.. im pretty sure you can start cascading your jumps pretty much anywhere you want.

Route unavailable?

What kind of ship are you using, what hyperdrive module have you fitted in it, where are you at the moment exactly, and where do you want to get to?

Note: If you picked "Achenar" you can't get there until you have a permit. Head to an Empire system nearby (Nehet, Kaiakhul, Beta Tucane systems) and start picking up missions there until you get the Empire ranks you need.

Like the others say: upgrade your FSD. Another option is to change ships - something like a hauler can hold a larger FSD and more fuel; then you can go somewhere far away and sell it. Just go fast.

im in Yakabugai using a viper with cheap FSD just for combat in nav beacon carnt remeber that name of system i wanted to go to was a high tec empire but was about 129LY away XD

oh ok cool and im guessing there is a ship that has a really far FSD range as well?

They're expensive, if you want long range. A fully kitted long-jump Asp Explorer (like my baby, the MV Longshot) will run about 40mil and can jump 34ly. A Type-6 kitted for trading rares can do about 20ly.

The Viper has a notoriously short jump range, even with an A rated FSD. If you can afford it though, a 3A FSD is 500k for the Viper which nets you around 15LY jump range. Should be plenty to travel to Imperial space.

Edit: If not, buy a Sidewinder. The A rated FSD for that is only 160k and gives you a 16LY range (total price 190,000cr for ship and FSD).

Downgrade your main components to class D (except the fuel tank and FSD, upgrade the FSD) and sell any weapons you have. You should make it to your destination then. Head to Nehet, it has plenty of decent weapons and you can re-upgrade your Viper there. There is no financial loss on selling and buying components like weapons or thrusters.

ok cool will try this then its still along way out from my system to nehet but will upgrade and downgrade to get further distance and will add a fuel scoup just incase XD

Just a suggestion, i know people have helped how to move. Head somewhere near CD-51 102 i think it is

Great system that sells a lot of commodities required for the empire faction missions. Means you can rank up faster when you get the missions rather than traveling 40+ LY to find some personal weapons.

The Hauler is dirt-cheap and can manage over a 28LY jump range with an A-rated FSD and everything else D-rated. They make a decent budget explorer, though their fuel tank and heat management aren't great.
