Inactive NPC pilots are still on the payroll - it's a consequence of hiring them.
Terminate contracts if npc crew are not required. It's hardly FDevs fault if you hired a bunch of guys then gave them nothing to do. I'm sure they are grateful for all the free time spent in the crew lounge drinking Lavian Brandy while you went out making money for them.
You can't blame FD Devs because you made a contract with an NPC to pay them a percentage of your earnings!
What are you complaining about, anyway. Credits aren't worth anything anymore!

Yeah. The credit loss is pretty inconsequential in the endgame.
Particularly competitive squadrons might be a little upset about the fact that they take a cut of your leaderboard contributions, since the leaderboards seem to be based on earnings after modifiers.
Still, even 10% for having an elite pilot on retainer is peanuts compared to some of the powerplay bonuses, because those count towards the leaderboards too apparently. Kill a cyclops? 2M base, only 1.8 if you have a pilot (regardless of whether you used the pilot in the fight or not), whereas if you're rank 5 with Duval or Hudson you can claim a cool 4M and get double the bonus for the same amount of work. Totally balanced.
Does Ariadna have a gambling problem or something? With money like that she could be flying any ship she want with a crew of her own.
My pilot is at just shy of 5B. Maybe I should be looking into her spending habits as well. LOL
I can't imagine being in enough of a pinch to hire an expert at 12%, rather than hire harmless and train up.

✌Really? They are not terribly useful until they at least reach Dangerous, some would argue they are not much good until they are Elite. It's hilarious that my SLF pilot can be Combat Elite while I am not yet. Maybe I should pilot the SLF and leave her to the mother ship. Maybe outfit it with all rails and see what happens.I just hire and fire pilots oh yes I know I'm so stingy
This is by far the fastest way to rank them.
They spam them as fast as they cycle and you run out of ammo real fast.
Can be fun with plasma slug and some extra fuel though.
