Lost a python.... but Killed by what?

The last 4 times I've popped into a High Intensity CZ I have seen the cap ship seem to get dislodged after full materialization and spin end over end away from the CZ marker. I also had some difficulty selecting it after it went tumbling away. Has anyone documented this through vid? There is no doubt that getting hit by that would ruin your day, but I don't see any displacement of the OP's ship during the incident. Am I wrong about that?

From the looks of it, you got entangled in the bugged CapShip hitbox.

That's my impression as well.

Also, unless my eyes are failing me (always possible) but I couldn't see any obvious 'flashing triangles'. It's as though the fire wasn't coming from a ship on the scanner.

There used to be fairly common instancing screw ups where hostile vessels could be invisible to the ship they were attacking, essentially a one-way link. This is one of the reasons I try to always have the bandwidth meter active.

However, this looks more like crashing into the capital ship's displaced hitbox, especially at the beginning.

Thanks guys,
will open a ticket, Thought I was going crazy!

Just link your video and any netlogs from that time (which you can look at yourself to see where the damage is coming from), looks like a pretty clear cut case of a game problem and they'll certain reimburse you for your loss.

Support has confirmed that this is in fact the collision / hit box bug.

That settles it then.

Don't you normally see the "impact" alert before you hit something and get the flashing cockpit lights?

Yes, but the warning is tied to the visual representation of the ship, not the location of the hitbox.

Nice you got your answer.

Your Journal Logs should show the cause of death / damage. Always my first place to check when something weird happens.

Nice hud colours, same as mine, just about :)
