Lost partial use of my hotas only within game.

I have one of the joysticks on my Hotas set to open the UI menus within the ship. Now, this joystick has stopped working, but only within Elite Danger; it works fine on other games and software, and every other button on the Hotas works fine.

The game doesn't even recognise it when I try to assign it to a new control.

What could cause this?
Running on Windows 10 on Odessy, with a X-56 Hotas

I've had flaky issues with my X-56 but a PC reboot always fixes it. Open device manager and check for any USB/user interface issues.

Only time that used to happen to me was when I wasn't actually clicked into the window make sure the mouse is clicked into the proper window

I got it to work now, it turns out the Thottle part of the Hotas was ghosting inputs, and changing the USB port that was plugged into fixed that and now the joystick part works fine
