Love the game but makes no sense

Think I'm gonna dance now

Thanks for the inane comnents, made me laugh so loud, as I was 'stuck in quince' I did a planetary scan mission, which gave me a follow up to find 3 black boxes in lhs 449, so I went back to bubble and found them, the owner was very grateful and offered me 64,000 credits if I returned them to Hutton orbital, hahaha as I just went there yesterday for the first time, to get the mug as a one and only trip.. I think yes love the game and makes no sense. Now I brought splashy back for some passenger runs, love that ship, willing to part with voltzz though maybe try a fer de Lance, called 'le don' after Don qioxte who used a spear..

Trying to break it down, so far I have:

- Transfer time took 1hr to Quince (~500ly from Sol) <- Should not really be a surprise since it says how long it'll take and how much it'll cost and besides Colonia, Maia and about 4/5 others I'd say Quince is one of the furthest places out there. FYI ship value and distance are the factors in determining cost of transfer. Time is fixed depending on distance.
- Missions disappear/change after 1hr <- Should not really be a surprise, not really unreasonable. Most people want the board to change faster but well, there you go :)
- Different missions appeared not similar to before <- Ditto above
- Certain ships have low jump range <- Again not unreasonable that ships aren't all epic at everything. Engineers help a lot with this up to 1.5x for FSD mod and up to 83% mass saving on sensors and 73% on life support iirc.. Can make a ton of difference (pun intended) to certain ships although the space cow still won't have great range.
- Telepresence in fighters <- You are in the ship, there is some kind of advanced VR that makes you thing you are in the fighter, it's all wireless controlled so when the fighter blows up you don't die

- Crew (mentioned twice) <- What rank were they, what was your loadout/ship. Rank under Master yes, totally suck and shouldn't be left in charge of an expensive ship. With a 10mil rebuy I assume a Beluga/T9 since you don't have a conda in the list. Neither of which are great combat ship to begin with and you should be avoiding CZ's like the plague. I mean do you normally survive well in a combat zone when you fly in there? Do you see NPC's surviving in there with T9s? Yeah don't expect it just because you are a player not an NPC, this game delights in making you the player be not at all special. There's no "NPCs are magically better when they are your crew", they fight just as well/badly as other NPCs that players kill by the thousands :D
Crew do become useful at Deadly/Dangerous/Elite ranks, takes some time to train them up there, although I'd still not let them handle an expensive ship in a CZ. I'd let them take over RES sites and nav beacons.

-Interface <- Yep it could be better, there's some hotkeys now that help. I have a lot set up on my numpad. 8 is attack, 2 is defend, 5 is dock and I think I have switch to fighter somewhere, maybe num 0, I can't remember.

I get the impression that the OP only knows how to send texts, and that writing complete, logical sentences is something he or she is not used to.

No, they're fine. It should cost a lot to move an expensive ship, and take more time than it would to go and collect it yourself.

That's your opinion obviously, personally, the larger ships are too expensive to justify the transfer fees to CGs etc (typically 6-8mil each way). As for transfer time, that should take into account the jump range of the ship. If I want to transfer my JumpaConda or DBX, it takes a ridiculously long time! A trip to Muang from Shinrarta can be done in 4 jumps (aka minutes), yet takes well over half an hour to transfer... why? If I want to ship any modules, it's a hell of a lot quicker to just do it myself! Aka... Feature Redundant in its current form.

I'd thought Fdev had polled the playerbase whether transferring ships should take some time or not. The majority said it should.

Yes, it's my opinion. :)

It takes longer to transfer a ship because there is administrative overhead (getting the ship onto a transport, and unloading it at the other end for starters). The jump range of the ship is irrelevant, as the ships are not flown to the destination - they are transported on larger ships.

I always fly my Cutter to the trade/bounty hunting CGs, which usually takes half an hour or so. But I prefer that to paying the transfer fee (which has always been over 10 million). I usually then transfer my DBX in case I want to travel somewhere else (but return to the CG later). I also ship in the modules to change the Cutter from trade to battle configuration. While my modules are transferring I get stuck into trade runs.

So, for me, the current system makes sense, and I regularly use the transfer feature.
