So I tried combat zone again. Low Intensity in high security system in the middle of the federation territory. The mission was for the "good" ruling side of the system. Combat rank needed - Competent (the rank I am).
So I jumped in and I saw only system defense ships and no shooting. I was curious to see if all of them are allies and I was lazy to scan each of them manually, so I risked and picked the Ophiuchi Progressive Party and finally got to see my enemies. ALL OF THEM were pythons or anacondas (the same as my allies). I was lucky I got out (took me like 10 seconds to realize I have no chance there). By that time my shields were down and my hull was on 79%.
I ask myself, the community and the developers. WHY for the love of God you put big ships into LOW intensity combat zones??? Why? WHY WHY WHY? Why can't you leave it like it was? Low intensity - small+medium ships, occasional big one; high intensity medium+big ships.
This has nothing to do with better AI. Please, realize it. This has to do with the complete balance. You balanced the game around high end players. But please understand that they can go fighting into high intensity CZs, but players like me can't even fight in the low ones!!!
Please fix it, I really want to play this game and love it like I used to
Edit:
Okay, my guide how to do this kind of missions on small ships:
BONUS:. If you are patient and have enough time for the mission, do it in nav beacon - shoot wanted ships only! Sometimes you get lucky and the ship is wanted and mission objective. You can actually earn nice money for that. I got like 330K because we shot down corvete and and few other big ships. Friendly anacondas were with me.
1. Go to conflict zone
2. Do NOT choose side, EVER!
3. Patiently scan ships, check which ship is being heavily shot at. If that ship is combat objective, shoot it too!
4. When the ship explodes, RUN AWAY, go to supercruise, or jump to other system if necessary.
5. Come back.
6. Repeat 1-5
This is how CZs work now
bravo
