Elite / Frontier Low Poly revamped Elite ships

Indeed you have - waiting for when you start to add shading and colour.

Looking grand at the moment though.

Cheers mate. Yeah the texturing thing is where the real art comes into it and unfortunately I haven't even scratched the surface of that (semi deliberate pun haw haw).

I'd love to say that I have a decent update but I realised that I was making my job magnitudes harder by choosing a silly technique for doing something that should be really easy... duh. Ah well, hopefully something tomorrow :D

Righto - back into it, I corrected the mess I had made earlier, didn't get anything done over the weekend but I've managed to get a little sorted this afternoon.

Hopefully once I get this one sorted I can attack another - the texturing is going to be a real test though and this one still has a bit to go. I've started playing with paneling to give the surface a bit of detail.

I've got some pretty good video tutes on how to go about it and a few books on digital painting for 3D work, it's just a matter of actually getting a model to the point where it needs a splash of colour :D

very nice..
I would love to attempt to 3d print some of them, particularly the cobra.
done correctly, maybe even with LED's for the engines, ive seen that in papercraft.

all I have is black plastic, and the print bed is 7 inches corner to corner, so thats as big as I can make in one piece.

I'm a long experienced light wave modeler, I can handle most format you make.

It may take me a week of poking at them to get them right though.
