Low wake destination behavior in EDO

Edit: Nice, fixed! ED 4.0.4
  • Fixed the next destination on the plotted hyperspace route not being auto-targeted when entering supercruise.

TL; DR:
Entering supercruise in ED:O clears your navigational route target. This is perplexing, vexing and I will use it as a test for the fitness of ED:O going forward. I do not know of an option which affects this behavior.

When the highwake destination is obscured. One procedure is to press the low wake button, enter supercruise, and fly around the offending sphere.
Here is an example.

Attempting this in ED:O requires one extra step. Re-targeting "next system in route."
Here is an example of what happens if you miss that step.

I admit it. I've lost my temper. This is just one of many user experience blunders that I do not understand how they occured and erode the experience that is ED. Yes, it is the most minor of peevs but its existence is a microcosm of issues in the rest of the game and UI.

Can confirm, was wondering myself.

As you said, quick workaround is the keybind "target next system in route" which you should use anyways if you're anywhere near open.

It's still quite NOT a QOL implementation.

This is annoying and happens whenever you switch states; you have to hit the reset route key a number of times - one when you launch and one when you jump to SC. If you're in a team it'll switch to your team's beacon, which is fine if that's where you wanted to go (it's not always where I want to go; if I wanted to go to my team mate, I'd target them). It doesn't feel like it's a feature. It's too messy. A new player would be confused instantly by this. The "plot previous route" thing is not something any new player would understand.

It needs to be put back how it was. If I set a course, I want my navigation system to retain that target, not switch. Ever. Unless I tell it to.

I have the next system key bound as I use it a lot when scanning systems.

The bug isn’t exclusive to Odyssey, I’ve had it happen a couple of times in Horizons, but it is far more common.

I’ve not opened a ticket myself as I can’t figure out when it happens - seems pretty random to me - but I will confirm/vote up if you open one.
