Lowest Laptop Specs Playable

Everyone likes to post their amazing systems but I would love to hear from fellow laptop players of Elite what your Low-Spec laptop is and how well it plays.

I run a used laptop from E-Bay $199 (US) $335 (CDN with shipping and border fees) as follows which runs Elite just fine. :)

Lenovo Thinkpad
CPU: 2.6Ghz I5-4300u (meaning a 4th generation not current 9th generation)
RAM: 8GB
Drive: 500Gb SSD

What is your laptop?

interesting thread but unless compared to a high end system people have very different standards on what constitutes as fine...………...
ie. what may appear as fine to you may be atrocious to others.
also are you talking about horizons or just the base game as the two have different hardware demands
still I am glad it runs fine for you...……………..

Yup, that system will have very little chance of running Horizons, it almost certainly will crash if you try (though some have had success).

The base game you can pretty much run on a potato PC however (as long as it's DX11 capable).

That said, my current laptop is more than enough to play Horizons at decent frame rates with high settings, well north of 30fps, usually 60fps.

I have a Lenovo thinkpad 320s....it works to an extent...but will stop suddenly and randomly. I only use it on my travels also at work (shhh) and so intend to change it for something better. Not a good experience and not what I like! But then the massive vr laptop is rather unwieldy for anything other than plugging in at somewhere else rather than in transit use. Just about to buy my first desktop pc! Scary eh?
