LTD sell price nerfed JUST for ME.

Went mining In a wing. Filled several boats up to max and went to Dakvar to sell. All my wings, and everyone else in system sold for LTD for the go,price of betwern 1.5 and 1.6 million/ton. I was offered 434K.

i quit the game and restarted no change. Exited the system and returned no change. Went to a different system, same issue. Sell price on eddb was 1.7, and I was offered 437K. Others in system reporting getting eddb price in that system, but not me.

i have 10.68 billion cash on hand. Am I being singularly punished for being very successful with LTD mining? I am about to have one of my cargo ships shipped over so Have the same amount of space for the cargo, and switch ships to see if my ship itself is nerfed.

any advice welcome

The demand for both Dakvar and Masans is less then a full hold on a T9.
Working as intended.

I'm much newer to mining than you, but I did read something like what bigmace said. You need to have something like 20x or 10x UNDER what the demand is, otherwise you are offered a lower price.

Maybe when fleet carriers launch, you can mine 500 or 800 LTDs and stash them on your ship, then just bring in 50 at a time to get max price? Guess we'll see

10-20% (i.e., 5x to 10x under demand). Otherwise correct. This is also known as "bulk tax". Prices will vary depending on the amount you have in your cargo relative to what the demand at the station is. I just sold 192+6T at Schilling Enterprise in Hrymonada for a total of 319 M with my Python (61 min round trip), this is just above 1.6 Mcr/ton. Demand is around 2700 so I was well clear of a hefty bulk tax. Had I gone with a full Cutter at 512+10 tons instead (about 2h30-45min round trip), I would likely not have been offered more than 1.3-1.4 Mcr/ton.
Am I being singularly punished for being very successful with LTD mining?
No, you are subject to the supply/demand mechanism, see above. The demand at Dakvar is lousy at 666. You should sell in Hrymonada instead to be less affected by bulk tax. If you were in a wing and your wingmates just sold, this may affect demand even further.

Edit: Bulk tax is exactly the reason why prices on EDDB and Inara fluctuate. The prices are being reported by commanders with different amounts of LTDs in their cargo holds that are therefore offered different prices.

We're seeing a few Noobillionaires these days. How do they get there ?
I'm no noob. Been playing since the beta was just a string of individual modules to test. I never cared for mining until the more recent changes but I've never seen it do that in the entire time I've doing that. I've seen 100K off eddb, 200K off eddb which I could chalk up to the BGS, but a disparity of 1.2 million seemed broken. It felt personal. Like you have too much space cash so neener.

That said the price should then be based on what I am poised to sell, not what I have in the cargo hold.

And yet here I sit with my measly 67 Mil....

Times have changed,
Go Bob...

" Come gather round people, let's sing you a song... the times they are a changing.."

Can you tell I'm a little jealous..

Yep, indeed.
But they chose the easy way and the game is taking a peek into your cargo hold then it gives you a price accordingly
Stick to the 10% rule and your be ok-ish - that is dont go to sell in any market if what you have in carho hold is more than 10% of the demand. You could go up to 15-20% but the penalty will increase as well.

For example Hrymonada, Schilling Enterprise - it has a demand of 2758.
I went there in my Conda with 320t (+6 in refinery) and i got 1.53 millions per ton. Decent, but still a 150k per ton penalty (full price with 0 cargo is 1671764)

Edit: and check prices on Inara since it has a column named OPR (observed price range) that will give you some sort of indication if you chose to ignore the 10% rule.
For Dakvar, OPR is: 379,640-1,614,138 (demand 666)
For Hrymonada, OPR is: 1,402,546-1,671,764 (demand 2758)

This brings to mind an interesting idea for those with multiple accounts. Park a medium size ship with empty cargo hold outside the station. Then bring in your Cutter/Anaconda/T9 filled to the brim and dock solely to find out the demand. Then exit the station and transfer the right amount to the medium ship to get the high price and sell. Do this N times to get the high price until the excessive supply drops the price. Then go to another station and repeat. Given the huge disparity in price, it should be worth the effort.

Why bother? In one month carriers will solve this :)

Yea, but other triple LTD will be found.
There is no guarantee. As far as I am aware, there are currently two known triple hotspots. Nothing guarantees that a new one will exist in a reasonable range from the Bubble (which, effectively, will mean one carrier jump from most systems in the Bubble). The introduction of an additional type of hotspot will also not increase the odds. Even if the search is successful, it may take some time.
