LTD sell prices

Carrier owner gets to just fill their carrier over time knowing they've got a pretty safe 500k/t on a large inventory. Sure, they could get more if they sold directly instead of letting other players grab a trading profit, but that's the nature of commodity markets - would you rather have a certainty of 500k, or a chance of 1 million?

As a HODLER of Bitcoin since 2013, who added to his position in 2018 @ $4k BTC, I could sell that now for a certainty of $5k BTC profit, or HODL it until December 2021 for a chance of $245k profit.

With my fleet carrier I would always deal direct with Stations. Especially if my core mining time is the source. The only other metric is time, if I can do a few jumps in my FC to a far edge bubble system that sells LTD for 100k , the jump then the highest price system selling for 1.6m, I could in theory set up shop outside than station and sell my LTD for say 700k , 600k a ton profit for me, 1m ton profit for buyers, just a short buy sell trade route in station. But then why not just use my own Cargoed out T9/Corvette/Cutter/Python (medium pad only stations) to sell them direct myself ferrying the in system from FC to selling Station?

I can think of a number of reasons:
  • Ferrying 20kton of LTDs still requires a fair number of trips, even in a maxed out T9.
  • You may enjoy other gameplay while still making a passive income. For example, you could jump and set up buy/sell orders remotely while exploring the other side of the galaxy. Or you may simply not want to engage in trade at the moment.
  • It will take longer.

These hotspots and prices should pop up and stay for months at a time (like the triple spot) and then eventually get mined out. Miners need hotspots like this or mining is pointless.

Its hard to go from making good money to making half the amount - what point is it and it isn't any fun anymore. It isn't fun when things get nerfed. So If you are going to nerf something don't nerf prices, hotspots and such. Just move them around after periods of time, make new ones pop up. Rings rotate around the planet right? Maybe hotspots will converge over time?

Been monitoring Miner's Tool for a couple of days now. Yup, FD neutered LTDs. Guess I can sell my mining python.
Doubt it. I sold LTDs for 1.6 million each on a load of 500+ plus just yesterday morning. I depends on a huge bunch of factors not the least of which is the reporting of data to the third party database.
The only thing I think may have gotten crazier lately may be the "galactic average" calculation, but maybe that's been the same for a while too and I just noticed it was so broken.

Do you really get full price for your LTDs? The customers don’t complain about the quaint odor that comes from being in that cargo hold?
Im buying after delivery from the client and its an Imperial Cutter we have chaps at home who take great pride in the holds...apparently, I never go there myself ...I try to support the Agriculture in my system ...people need to eat you know and Industrial station to Industrial station trade is a bit sparse

The reason for this has been explained several times over in this thread. Contrary to this assertion, my feeling is that the relevant states have popped up more often than usual in April and people have become spoiled. You can still make around 200Mcr/h with prices around 1Mcr/ton.

Did they explicit say, that they will reshuffle the spots in the live build?
With the addition of Tritium hotspots to icy rings, it's implied that any existing hotspot configurations will be changing (and we already know the Borann LTD3 didn't exist in the Betas)

But in Betas, things are always not the same as in the live build. This is not a guarantee that the LTD3 in Borann will disappear... but it may be.

I'm hearing a lot of this. The 3rd party tools report prices in the 1.0 million range and other players are getting 1.5-1.6 million. Obviously somebody knows how to find the best buying systems without using ED Miner tools and are not connected thus their great prices aren't getting reported.

Hotspots are generated procedurally, FD don't decide where the hotspots go they just get sprinkled around by an algorithm. Apparently they can't add a new mineral (tritium) without re-generating the whole thing. Presumably even FD doesn't know where the hotspots will be until they're generated.

We will know it in a few days, but i won't be surprised, if the LTD3 is still there.

It's possible that they might add an LTD3 hotspot in the bubble by hand to prevent an outcry over Borann being gone. We'll see, but I wouldn't bet on it.

It's also possible that the RNG gods bless us with multiple LTD3 hotspots in the bubble, if we get really lucky.

Run the spreed sheet here on your PC windows excel app.. turn off PC addons and don't upload the location..

Very simple. its allways been the users choice to upload the locations found or not...

I'll try that. I noticed the instructions ask the players to enable EDMC to improve reporting. If that was happening, we would all see the great prices, but we're not. The timing of this post coincides nicely for when I started hearing about these discrepancies with the tools.

There is always the possibility of Fdev adding things by hand to the procedurally generated galaxy. If they add a LTD3 hotspot by hand my best guess would be that they would just perpetuate Borann.

It has made it much easier for Windows users with version 2 update. Version 1 was a lot worse for the user to run...
Those with linux and Mac OS still do it the hard way. randomly jumping to systems that are refinery or industrial economy...

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if the LTD at Borann would disappear and new ones would get generated, even outside the bubble.
Then it would make good sense get a carrier, take it there, mine until it's full and haul it back and sell for a good price.

THIS is my kind of scenario to buy a FC, go and mine with my ships outside the bubble and return with a haul full of riches to sell at home base.

Also correcting the prices a bit more upwards would be great, for VOs for example, only available via core mining, and they pay all compared to LTDs, which you can mine easily in an afternoon stroll through the rocks.

Yeah, but that would be really bad for people who don't have a FC and want to earn enough get one. I really hope this doesn't turn into a situation where those of us who took advantage of Borann to get a FC are sitting pretty while everyone else deals with a credit nerf. That would be unfair to newer players.

Theres always a job on Imperial Carriers :ROFLMAO:
