macOS support - Steam

Following news at WWDC 2023, Apple is bringing more possibilities to adopt macOS for game developers. Looking at games in a similar genre (Football Manager), it would be great to have macOS support for F1 Manager. This would help me to play the game on the road (e.g. in the train) as well as being flexible in the type of device I use. Even though macOS has a small user base percentage on Steam, it would be best to aim for inclusivity and port the game.

I see problem here - different CPU and tools required to make native build also require macos device for developer.
Also, if game uses directx then it cannot be recompiled to mac as is.
So making macos version of the game is just expensive for developers.
It is possible to make something from scratch which may recompile though. But this should be planned before 1st line of the code is written.

It would be more or less a port indeed, but that would be cool. Apple is trying to bridge this gap and bring a game toolkit that can help port games easily to macOS, see:

There is even no need for devs to build a port. Apple makes it possible for users to turn Windows games into macOS games. The set up is said to be very user friendly. Let's wait for Sonoma to see if that is the case.
