Well, when you get to Vice Admiral you can carry narcotics, gambling equipment and (as Sir Terry Pratchett would put it) "Ladies of negotiable affections" without getting a fine or attacked when being scanned by Authority Vessels.

All I know is I'm an Admiral and a King, and not once has an NPC or traffic controller referred to me as Sir or Your Grace.....shameful.
