Make an Animal Family pack

Ok, so, recently some have mentioned making a felines/canids pack. This thread it based off of that.

So, choose an animal family (canids, felines, bears, etc.).

You can do an animal pack OR you can spice things up with a standard pack, maybe even choosing what the decor would be (that'd be a challenge, but I'd love to see what people come up with)?

Oh, and if y'all repeat, totally ok (example, 2 people choose canid packs)

Only rule: make it fit the current mechanics

So, I guess I'll start. I choose a primates.

Primates are a very large group that is sadly heavily underrepresented in the game. We literally only have 4 apes (reasonable) and 2 lemurs (semi reasonable) and 4 monkeys (unreasonable).

Now, the full game so far has 10 primates. You may think: "Big deal". But, when you think about it, zoos worldwide have so many different monkeys from all over the world, so it's disappointing that we don't have more. So, here I go (enough about me talking):

  1. Golden lion tamarin - a beautiful orange color that'll really pop
    1200px-Leontopithecus_rosalia_-_Copenhagen_Zoo_-_DSC09082.jpeg
  2. Coquerel's sifaka - the only lemur I really want. Their hopping animations will be fun to watch
    autumn-sifaka-550x400_c.jpg
  3. Cottontop tamarin - a little monkey with a big afro
    cotton-top-tamarin-megan-attwell-24-8-2013-165634-1.jpg
  4. Howler monkey (any) - who wouldn't want one of these loud animals in their zoo? Iconic to American rainforests
    howler-monkey-Costa-Rica.jpg
  5. Bald uakari - imagine seeing this animal, a monkey with orange or white fur, then you see it's bright, red head
    Uakari.jpg
  6. Squirrel monkey - a small, hyperactive monkey that'd be fun to watch running here and there
    1200px-Saimiri_sciureus-1_Luc_Viatour.jpg
  7. Lion tailed macaque - I am very disappointed that India has no representation, so here is a great contestant for that sub-continent
    Lion-Tailed_Macaque.png
  8. Hamadryas baboon - a baboon, a 2nd primate from mainland Africa, and it looks scary

Oh, I would love a canid pack, even though I think animal family packs are very unlikely, because I think the dlcs will always sell better if there are mixed species. Example, alot of people would not buy this canid pack ,because they might think kthere are enough canids or dislike them, while if there is 1 canid and rest is different animals, they might buy it anyways for the rest of them.

5) Bat-Eared Fox

6) Can I please cheat here and add hyenas to it? I know they are not canids, but I guess a hyena only pack is even more unlikely, lol.

I would love to see an antelope animal pack:

1. Scimitar horned oryx - extinct in the wild and staple zoo animal.

2. Addax - such a beautiful desert antelope

3. Giant Eland - west African antelope and also one of the largest

4. Bontebok - amazing story behind saving this stunning South African antelope.
1628695148965.jpeg

5. Arabian oryx - saved by one zoo in Dallas and now it’s not even endangered anymore.

6. Waterbuck - aquatic antelope, I mean how cool is that?

7. Blackbuck - would love to see this unique Asian antelope in planet zoo.

The caprinae pack is something I would love as I am very fond of these animals with their sometimes quite bizarre appearance. The selection represents animals of various shapes and sizes from Europe, North America, Asia and Africa and is based on the assumption that the alpine ibex will be in a Europe DLC. The Iberian or Nubian ibex could be included instead of the bharal but I went for that in the interest of variety.

You can also take my money. Caprids really are in a sad state

Really looooove this pack! Bush dog is an amazing choice. They are always so fun to watch in zoo’s 🤩

Let's go nuts - Porcupine Pack it is! Standard pack, with four porcupine species that each represent a different continent or habitat.

1. Indian crested porcupine - The largest and most familiar of the four porcupines here that represents Asia; they have a very broad biome tolerance that includes desert, grassland, temperate and tropical environments and they are among the more commonly-kept of the crested porcupines in real zoos.
1628695460124.png

2. North American porcupine - Found in the temperate and taiga forests of North America, which would add a highly cold-tolerant species to the game which would be capable of climbing.
1628695811491.png

3. Prehensile tailed porcupine - Another climbing species, this time representing the rainforests of South America; they could use the same tail-hanging behaviour as the binturongs, are one of the most unusual/hilarious looking of all the porcupines and the bright orange babies are ridiculously cute.
1628695831899.png

4. African brush tailed porcupine - Represents the jungles of Africa; they are able to be kept in both indoor and large outdoor enclosures, can live in mixed enclosures with a variety of other smaller mammals and are even suitable for walkthrough enclosures.
1628695851527.png

Exhibit) Crau Plain grasshopper - A bit of an odd choice as the exhibit animal, but this Critically Endangered grasshopper from a tiny area of arid grassland in France formerly had the scientific name Prionotropis hystrix - hystrix being the Ancient Greek word for porcupine. Couldn't find any land animal with porcupine in its name and this species has a captive breeding programme at Thoiry Zoo in France and Bristol Zoo in England, so it works.

The vegetation that would come with this pack all, just like the porcupines, use spines in order to defend themselves:
  • Gorse bush Ulex europaeus: A common European spiny plant often used in hedging and is almost constantly producing brilliant yellow flowers
  • Sea-buckthorn Hippophae rhamnoides: A widespread plant of coastal and mountain habitats across Europe and North and Central Asia
  • Honey locust Gleditsia triacanthos: A North American plant that evolved spikes probably as a defence against extinct herbivores such as mammoths
  • Madagascar ocotillo Alluaudia procera: A major component species of Madagascar's famous spiny forest
  • Spiny tree fern Cyathea manniana: A tree fern from the Central African rainforest with sharp thorns running up its trunk
  • Walking palm Socratea exorrhiza: A South American tropical palm with long spiny roots that raise the entire trunk away from the ground

Not certain what building items there would be other than the obvious animal picture boards, although it could include some examples of Native American quillwork.

Mustelid pack! From around the world!

From North America - the Wolverine ( I realize they're not found only in North America, but it's my North American representative)

From South America - the Tayra

From Europe- the European Mink - alternatively the European Badger - as the Mink and Tayra look a lot alike, even more than the Honey Badger below and the European Badger do ironically.

From Asia - the Asian Small Clawed Otter

From Africa - the Honey Badger!

Okay, ima do a pig/suine pack, making it a normal pack:
Collared Peccary:

Red River Hog:

Wild Boar:

Visayan Warty Pig:

Pygmy Hog:

For the scenery, I guess we could have statues of each pig, a Pig's Ear Succulent Plant (which look like pig ear's as the name suggests), and pig hoofprints (like putting hoofprint pictures on a custom billboard, but 3d). Other than that IDK, maybe a fake pig skull?

Wow, I love all of these.

I believe Frontier will make $90 from me only (9 packs, each $10).

It's really interesting to see how much the roster can be boosted with just 1 ani mal family pack.

And yes, @FoxyDee, I'd take that canid pack. It's only missing my gray fox

Yup, I'd buy them all too, even the antelope one. No offense the suggestion by the way, they're just my least wanted thing, but in truth, I'd buy that too if it was offered. I've always said I"ll buy anything except for an arachnid pack or centipede focused pack.
