Make "blue" planets landable in Horizons!

Atmospheric landings are literally a feature and selling point of Odyssey, only way you'll get them for free is waiting five years for Odyssey to be rolled into the base game like Horizons was.

That I have absolutely zero interest in any of the content that Odd provides. Just being permitted to land on a planet where someone set a single byte to say it's "tenuous" rather than "zero" atmosphere is not 35 bucks worth of content.
Atmospheric worlds are THE content that EDO gives, (You don't think anyone bought it for FPS do you?) And yes it is worth it, (at least to me) I suspect there will be a sale in New Year so a good opportunity to get it then (depending on your provider).

Maybe I am misinformed then. How does ship combat at a planetary installation differ on Od planets compared to Horizon?

Already said: go back to 3.8 legacy, that's what you've paid for.

If you're playing 4.0, you are playing what OTHERS have paid for... get it? ;)

Now it has happened to me for the second time that I transferred my AX ship to a system where only a ground installation is currently under attack... only to be foiled during approach, because I didn't see that the planet has a "blue" atmosphere which can only be approached with Od.
Now this sucks. Do you want us to fight in that war or not? Why in the galaxy can't I approach there? I even have that Advanced Planetary suite for "landing on planets with tenuous atmospheres". I don't want to do any legwork down there, I just want to get into the instance to defend the installation from Fargoids!
Yeah, Atmospheric planets are Odyssey. You want to defend that port, wait for the next steam sale. Otherwise, you cannot defend that port.

There are plenty of others to defend though.

I see you are dodging my question, so apparently the answer is "absolutely nothing" and you just can't admit it.

@Kayvan I'm really curious... what did your current system cost? And why do you care for those few bucks more or less?
What exactly question? All your questions have been answered, by yourself or other commanders...

btw... my answers could take a while... i'm busy landing planets with atmospere atm...

The difference is: It is on an atmospheric planet. It's not that hard to understand.

What I want is to participate in the thargoid instances at planetary installations. It's 100% exactly the same content as on planets without atmosphere. I just want to access the content I ALREADY PAID FOR. No more, no less.Taking the same content and locking it behind another paywall is dishonest to say the least.
In the words of the legendary Hank Schrader: "I want Shania Twain to give me a tuggy. Guess what. It ain't happening either."

At this point, you should give up. This is not going to change. There is no argument you can make that will convince Frontier to give you Odyssey for free. And for what it is worth: I have no interest in on-foot combat either. I still bought Odyssey, because I am interested in landing on atmospheric bodies and Exobiology. Odyssey is a bit more than on-foot pew-pew.

If you are on Steam just choose one of the "usual suspect" key resellers and you're good to go to those fights for about a tenner... 🤷‍♂️

No, it is Odyssey content - it has a tenuous atmosphere.
How does ship combat at a planetary installation differ on Od planets compared to Horizon?
It has a tenuous atmosphere, which is currently exclusive to Odyssey.
I see you are dodging my question, so apparently the answer is "absolutely nothing" and you just can't admit it.
Nobody is dodging your question...

How many times have you already been told, the same as I have just told you, it is Odyssey exclusive content... You haven't paid for that content, you are not "entitled" to that content, you are not going to get that content while it remains exclusive to Odyssey.

Simple...

I want stuff that everyone else has payed for for free, waaa waaa.

Um, nope, we payed money for it, you don't get it for free!
