Make Elite support PSVR, but make it only do motion tracking for headlook

As you have probably guessed from the title, I think that VR should be half (no depth perception) implemented for PSVR, so that players can experience VR with minimal, if any, performance changes.

I can't see any problems with doing this, the only potential problems would be the increased FOV causing the game to render more things, but this should be a minimal effect and maybe the resolution - but this should also be fine given that the game view is enlarged. I see no other reason that this could not be implemented, other than the time it could take. I know that Sony let people do this as people have done it with Minecraft, just a big screen that you can look around in without sacrificing performance to make it look 3D.

Thoughts?

I actually thought this was what the VR experience would be, I only just learned about the depth of field augmentation tonight while Googling to find any new information about the subject, as a lot of why I bought the game was to eventually get PSVR as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game greatly without it, but I am a little jealous of the PC elitists who get the full experience lol. I do not make enough money to buy a gaming computer for ED, let alone a VR headset and Hotas, as well as a strong enough tower to even keep up with the game at that point.

Anyway, I wouldn't even bat an eye at your suggestion. I probably wouldn't even notice lol

Man, all I want to do is look around in my cockpit while flying. It wouldn't even need to focus panels, I'd be fine with using hotkeys for panels that anchor the camera until reset to neutral.

A girl can dream . . .

The screen resolution would be 1080p either way. This sounds manageable, but they would not be able say it supports PSVR without real 3D I think. Head tracking is a great benefit for playing the game, is there a marketing label to explicitly highlight that?

I don't know if there is, but I do know when I play on a controller, which isn't often, I use headlook all the time. I use it for panels and everything. On the Hotas Thrustmaster, it isn't nearly as viable, so I only use it to check my surrounding occasionally, and to track bodies as I round them and and land or sling out.

I'm not nearly tech savvy enough to be able to really chime in and drop terms or anything, but I could definitely see ED being a huge PS4 title, driving sales of both the game and the hardware, if it were PSVR enabled.

But no, let's make Borderlands 2 VR enabled. Great call
