Fleet Carriers will be the pinnacle ship for very rich commanders. At this level, we have every ship we want and a couple of billion credits. Just adding another big ship to the list seems a missed opportunity as game credits are almost meaningless.
So make fleet carriers expensive and rentable – say one billion credits for six months, and the period can be extended by weekly blocks. This gives some meaning back to credits at the top level of the game as they will once again become a necessity.
As a rented asset it should also mean we do not have to continually pay to maintain the carrier and the rental should cover the salaries of the staff I presume will be required to operate the fleet services.
Additionally if operated by “neutral” leasing companies it might be less of a provocation than having fifty private fanatical imperial fleet carriers arrive at Sol.
