Make Majestic Carrier again!

Some of You probably know this, some may not be aware, but what is marked as "torpedo tubes" on Majestic class interdictor, and is atm useless, used to be Fighter launchtubes and was sending out SLFs into the battlefield. I don;t know when, or why this was changed, but I believe, for the sake of capital ship balance this change needs to be reverted.

FDev pretty please, make majestic class inderdictors SLF carriers again!

I strongly suspect the Majestic's weapons are spectacularly bugged. I watched a shieldless, Competent-rank Viper take three direct hits off the railguns and lose 1%, and I'm not sure if the bullet hail does anything whatsoever. I thought to place a bug report for it, but the tracker kept saying that you couldn't open any reports at the moment (leave it to Frontier to have a bugged bug tracker).

the farragut has torpedo tubes that I have never seen launch a torpedo. The biggest threat from the farragut is its laser batteries.

I've never particularly felt threatened by the majestic's "interceptor cannons" and the rail drivers are, as Palaverous said, apparently bugged.

Making carriers (of both kinds!) launch fighters would be great provided killing those fighters didn't count towards a victory. If it did then they'd be way too easy to farm.

Sounds like the civilian Marlinist megaships in the Ackwanda CG are more deadly 😁

Those Used to be fighter tubes as well. Tha main difference ballance wise tho is that even without fighters farragut guns can do anything, and ontop of that farragut has most if not all thermal relays covered with lines of fire of it's main turrets. Majestic not only can be facetanked but ontop of that has thermal relay in blind zones of it's guns - so giving it slf escort back would add that minimal challenge to driving it away (as it is right now it's freebie 500k basically)

provided killing those fighters didn't count towards a victory

fair point, I believe no SLF should count towards victory regardless of who launched it.

honestly? I'd put it Farragut > megaship > Majestic.
It's easier to disable the turrets on a megaship (a single dumbfire to the generator will do it - if you know where the generator is so you can hit it without having to do the data link scan, otherwise you'll have to facetank the gun a bit) and they don't hit quite as hard as the farragut's lasers, which have excellent convergence both topside and underneath.

The majestic both has weaker guns and poorer convergence on those guns.
Both the imperial interceptor cannons and the federal broadside cannons are basically non-threatening as long as you still have shields.

Majestic class interdictors are actually more of a liability in a fight than a help. They retreat inevitably, it costs victory progress, and they cannot defend themselves against a single eagle or viper.

It's not a software change we are asking for, these ships are so bad off that they're clearly bugged. Majestic Interdictors are so much worse than Federal Farragut class ships that it isn't even funny.

Imagine if cap ships launched reverb torpedoes?

No more camping with them about :D and would give people a chance you evade (unlike laser based reverb).

Leaving this here. I'm all for weaponized civilian ships, don't get me wrong. It just strikes me as funny that a bulk freighter may be of more use in a CZ than the Majestic. Fdev should really make those SLF launchers active.
