I think this may be a big reason why I dont really do missions anymore. To me it makes for choppy gameplay. (I dont think its necessarily a problem. I just would like to see it done better). I know we occasionally get the random mission over comms while in flight but I think it would go a long way to have a mini version of the mission board accessible while not docked. This allows me to go from dropping into USSs and picking up crap to instantly switching my gameplay to something else without wasting time. I get that you would have to dock to accept the rewards and that's okay because it doesn't take any current importance away from the ports.
I do still want missions in the docking areas, dont get me wrong. But I think those could be your specialized higher reward missions, and they could even be made to spawn "rare" missions sort of like the ones we get from Palin or Ram now. Just more variation. I just dont see why we "need" to dock to accept missions, especially when there are so many other reasons for docking.
And I know I could just stack a bunch of missions and do them before docking again but my mood changes and my play time is limited so I tend to keep my mission limit to 3. Traveling to and from dock takes up more time that I believe we should spend doing something else.
