Make "moving platforms" more versitile

Moving platforms right now:
You have a large amount of possible movement options for those 3 platforms already.
For the turning platform you can make full turns, continous turns, half, quarter or abrupt swings, but the platform will always return to its original state.


Limits of moving platforms right now:
You can't let the platform turn for only a quarter by activation, it will always swing back or do 4 quarters to go back to the original state.
Furthermore, for the swing option there is no possible delay inbetween the swing animation (e.g. if you want to animate a custom door).


My wishes for moving platforms in future updates:
Adding animations for the platforms that allow incremental movement (e.g. only quarter or half turn by one activation).
Adding the possibility to sign more than one movement pattern to one platform.
Adding animations that allow the setting of delays inbetween movements (quarter turns, but each quarter can be delayed individually).
Adding the feature that one moving platform can be moved in one direction with one trigger and reverse the animation (back to original state) with another trigger or delay.

I know this is a special suggestion, but in my optinion it would put the creative aspect of the game to a whole new level, because you could literally create animatronics (or doors in my case) from any scenery piece already existing in the game.
 
They could add advanced options to them...
1. [checkbox] stop movement at [x]% (rotation: 50% = 180°)
2. movement speed [x]%
3. [checkbox] add [x] sec pause before next movement/ moving back
3.a [checkbox] use trigger to start next movement/ moving back

My suggestions for the platforms :

- Have more speed options, a "extra slow" and "extra fast" would be super usefull!

I would also love to have another shape :

It would be ideal to make scenery move one way and "hide" their return to the starting position.
 
The ability to change the animation in the sequence editor as well so you can have for example Fish Beasty do more than one animation in a sequence. The fact that the animatronic is locked to one animation is a bit silly
 
Probably worth acknowledging that the Movement Platforms are a work of genius and only the tip of the iceberg for possibilities has been seen. But yeah for sure additional options for each one would be super welcome.

I made an authentic Technics 1210 Turntable replica and this really requires 1/12 of a turn for the arm. In the same way, it would be good if the up and down Movement Platform could have different heights. Sometimes might just need a bump of movement.

Vampiro's idea of hiding the module return is also awesome. So the only thing I'd thought of to make an invisible return works with lights only and that is to have the light timed so that it switches off for the platform reset. This is a huge amount of work though.
 
I would love to see options for:

  • Setting the speed of animation (in milliseconds or seconds)
  • Setting the degree of where animation stops (for rotating platform)
  • Setting the height difference or how far animation moves in cm or m (for up and down, and side to side plarform)
  • Setting delay of animation before returning to original position (in milliseconds or seconds)

At the moment with the rotating platform even the quarter options are too big for what I want.

I’d also love to see more animation options and smaller versions to make essentially our own custom human size animatronics.
 
It's a bit of a bodge job at the moment but with the left and right moving platform, you can make the object fly or move for miles and miles by adding one to the other to the other to the other and then attach scenery to the inner most nested platform. Going to assume that the same works for the up and down platform. I am also working out that you can get better and more unique rotations by nesting them into each other again but setting them to rotate differently.

This isn't ideal but it's a nice temporary solution.
 
I would really appreciate these three platforms to be updated or add additional ones:

  • Toggle between two states (e. g. "static left" is default and trigger it to move to "static right"). Similar to the state open/close of certain doors in Planet Coaster 1
  • More platform variants in sizes or make them scalable
  • Animation speed, delay, timing
 
Yeah so where there is currently a drop down box with a whole list of different animation types for slow and medium and fast etc. there really needs to be 2 drop down boxes.

1) animation type eg normal, reverse, oscillate etc.

2) animation speed eg slow, medium fast.

And then maybe add another for the spinning module.

3) half turn, quarter turn, eighth turn etc.




Then we can set up the parameters for each animation.
