Make shuttles better than a painwalk !

Who said anything about elevators? Hold my beer!

None of those are that much of a time sink in my opinion.
compared to the fact that Apex and FL still don't have SCO and your mission signal will always be in the farthest part of the system, so that we can apparently enjoy the black screen as long as possible, elevators are a piece of cake

You don´t need to diss my suggestion, because of some other thing that is not done.

When you are taking an Apex shuttle to exfiltrate a settlement where you have been naughty, frequently settlement defenses, goliaths and picket ships will fire on your Apex shuttle. When this happens, the oblivious pilot will engage in meaningless conversation with the passengers while his ship sails merrily along, getting attacked and destroyed. It would be nice to see him maybe boost, take evasive maneuvers and maybe even pop a chaff, but apparently these actions are not required by his contract.
You know it is that long since I did anything like that I had forgotten about it, but now you have reminded me and while I was typing this I remembered the advice was the same as if you were exfiltrating to your ship.
Leave the settlement on foot and don’t call in your ride until you are out of range.

Are you saying forumites are inconsistent... I find that very hard to believe :)
It was probably only a few of us that were complaining about both.
A thing in the beta that was annoying was the lift was just slow enough for the Muzak to start which seemed to indicate it wasn’t supposed to be quite that fast.

Think about it:
  • Why do you have to click on the elevator button to call it ? The settlements check your Identity automatic and open the door automatic.
  • Why do you need to select where you go to, when there is only on way exit ?
  • Why is a modern elevator that slow ?
  • Why do you have to turn around in that elevator ?
  • Why do you have to wait "for the shuttle to get ready" ?
  • Why does the shuttle always park with the entry to the farest point ?
  • Why is it no fun to walk from and to a shuttle ?

There is nearly nothing what makes it worthwhile..it´s just a senseless timesink.
You missed out.
  • Why isn't there a button to take me anywhere instantly?

Why do you have to click on the elevator button to call it ?
Because maybe you are just walking by the elevator and have no intention of entering. Should all the elevator doors open as you walk by?

Why is a modern elevator that slow ?
(Obviously it is a loading screen)
It is not really an elevator. I'm not sure what it is, maybe its a transporter? It is moving the cmdr in all 3 dimensions a big distance. Its kinda like that message tube in in old-timey buildings. Considering all this, its pretty damn fast. If it is a physical elevator (and not a transporter) I am surprised the cmdr doesn't get smacked against the walls and floor. Mag boots keep the cmdr from smacking against the ceiling.
