Dinosaurs Make Spino bigger and bulkier "Redesign"

The Spinosaurus is clearly bigger than the Rex. While in JWE the difference is barely noticeable even if you are looking for it. Yes, it should be even bigger than what it already is (compared to the Rex). But it took an incredible amount of effort to make them change sizes one time. They won't do it again. No point in keep bringing it up.

The JP3/TLW Rex is still smaller than the Rex we have in JWE, because the female Rex's are bigger than the males. We've never seen a Spino against a grown female T-Rex. Only a young adult male.

So of course it shouldn't be the same size difference as in JP3.

I didn't mean to belittle your request. It's a valid one, after all. It should be bigger. I'm just saying this discussion won't go that way. Even if the entire community started talking again about the sizes, it would most probably end up with people thinking the Rex should be bigger, with all the fan-made size charts depicting Rexy as larger than the Spinosaurus. You know, tell a lie enough times and people will believe it.

What do you mean about fan-made size charts? Scientists never found a full Spinosaurus fossil, so everything about the size of the animal is pure speculation. We have almost complete skeletons of the Rex, so we know for a fact, how big they were. We have never found any proof, that the Spino could grow larger than a T-Rex. That's just speculation from the jaw part and few sail fossils that's been collected...

You either didn't understand anything I posted or you're deliberately distorting what I said in order to make your argument.

My point is simple. The JP3 Spinosaurus is larger than any of the Rexes in the films. The animatronics make that very clear, specially the pictures I posted. I will spell it out. The Rexy animatronic from FK is essentially the same size the male animatronic, which is considerably smaller than the Spinosaurus animatronic. Therefore, the Spinosaurus is also larger than Rexy. That size difference should carry into JWE.

I never mentioned real life sizes. Not even once. I specifically mentioned size charts with Rexy and the JP3 Spinosaurus. I'm talking about Jurassic Park/World. Not real life. Stop trying to make it seem like I am.

Yes the JP Spino IS bigger. I’ve said that all along. That’s also why it’s already bigger in the game. But you can’t use the size of the JP3 Rex, since it’s smaller than the Rex in JWE. That’s all I’ve been saying. The size is perfectly right according to the canon.

I don't see why the Spinosaurus needs to be made even bigger than it already is in the game. The official JP3 size chart is pretty clear about its size. JWE actually makes it bigger than it was in the film canon by increasing its length (43.8ft) and weight (it was stated to be 8 tons here by lead animator Glen McIntosh).

We have no information on the animatronic used in Fallen Kingdom, and regardless of the animatronic's size, the digital model can and often times does vary (this is a confirmed fact). Animatronics are not the be-all-end-all of animal size in this franchise. Canon information dictates Rexy is 44ft long, 17ft tall, and weighs 9 tons. There is practically no information (no canon info, that is) on how large the two adults were in The Lost World, but Jack Ewins claimed that T. rex graphic used for the Fallen Kingdom DPG campaign was a generalization of the species, so we have a good baseline of 40ft long and 7 tons; additionally, Victoria Livingstone stated in Cinefex that the male's mass was increased in comparison to the female's and he ended up being 8 tons.

As far as film canon goes, the Spinosaurus and Rexy are about the same size (minus the sail), with the parents from The Lost World being a bit smaller and the individual T. rex from Jurassic Park III lagging behind the rest.

Spinosaurus
Height: 16ft (head); 19.7ft (sail)
Length: 43.8ft
Weight: 8 tons

Rexy
Height: 17ft
Length: 44ft
Weight: 9 tons

Lost World parents
Height: unknown (could be 16ft)
Length: 40ft
Weight: 7 tons (8 for male)

JPIII male
Height: 14.5ft
Length: 37ft
Weight: 8 tons

Your post shows exactly why the animatronics are the only reliable source to know how big the animals are. You said it yourself the digital models change size. And the numbers listed for the animals are random. They are unreliable. The JP3 Size Chart shows the Spinosaurus is 46 ft long but says it is 43.8. Here, count how many feet long it actually is. Other dinosaurs have different sizes than the listed numbers as well.

In Rexy's case, you said the "canon size" is 17 ft tall, 44 ft long. But the dimensions stated in Jurassic World: The Ride for it are 20 ft tall, but only 40 ft long. It grows in height but shrinks in legth. You can try to justify why this or that number is better but there's a simple reason why they vary. They're random, are just there to make the animlas look big and contradict themselves every time. They're just like the digital models. The real, physical, life-size animatronics make it crystal clear the Spinosaurus is larger. There's plenty more pictures online than the ones I posted that show this.

Exactly mate. The sizes are correct canon wise.

44ft was confirmed to be the actual size of Rexy by Jack Ewins. Jurassic World: The Ride is non-canon just like the Jurassic Park ride was (which said the T. rex was 45ft long), so nothing it says pertains to the film canon.

Animatronics are unreliable considering after the first film, only the small dinosaurs had fully built machines. For the second film, they realized there was no need for full Tyrannosaurus animatronics, thus they were built from the thigh up and lacked tails (same with the Spino animatronic). The baby in Lost World was 4ft tall and 8ft long with the adults being 20ft tall and 37ft long. The digital models and the animatronic are based on the maquette, in which case, the 1/5 scale Spinosaurus maquette was 8ft long, which would mean the full-scale animatronic would be only 40ft, yet we know it was 44-45ft per SWS website and JP3 bonus material. Digital models do vary in size, and while there are a boatload of numbers given for their sizes, a lot of those sources are non-canon and don't matter. The only canon source for the Spinosaurus' size is the JP3 DVD, and yes, I do know about the discrepancy you noted; that's due to the way the maquette's tail is curved, so regardless if you use the number printed on the chart or count the model's size on the grid lines, it doesn't really change that much.

I love the Spinosaurus, and I think Frontier did an amazing job bringing him back from JP3. Looks perfectly fine to me, they even shrunk the T-rex to look better with him.
I'd still love the option to produce dinosaurs at different sizes if we wanted to, that way it would satisfy the need for Spinosaurus to be bigger.
