Newcomer / Intro Making credits

Hi all I am after some help and advice. First though I need to say that the game that we have had is very good so far and has lots of potential once the make it so we can actually play with friends instead of hide and seek 😉

I am really struggling to make credits. I sold my mercenary edition ship to allow me to make a few upgrades to my sidewinder. I have been picking up a few wanted people at nav beacons. I have done a few go get this commodity and bring it back. I am sitting on 40k credits.... I seem to remember from the original game ( yes I am old) that making credits did not take so long. I have also seen lots of posts with people saying making fast credits is easy. I don't really have the huge amount of time I used to have to play so any advice would be great. I prefer the fighting/ killing play rather than hours of just flying between places to trade.

For me....the quickest (by far) has been mining.

Get a Hauler with your 40k and kit it out with simple mining laser and refinery.

Find a major or pristine metallic ring (not cluster)

Mine for gold / platinum / palladium only - throw everything else away.

Doing this you can have a cobra in an hour - continue mining in a cobra and you can have 3000000 in a few hours.

Hi 417, its fairly grindy at the beginning. I upgraded to a Cobra and added large cargo bays before earning enough to by a decent transporter. I earn plenty of credit that way. The transport runs earn cash but I always have spare cargo space for a few luxuries to sell at the destination station.

Edit to say that I can't earn anywhere near that amount by trading. Guess the trick is to find a good mining location to earn decent credit.

From what I understand, mining metallic (not "metal rich") planetary rings with pristine reserves makes people good money. I keep hearing several hundred thousand credits per hour on average. These kind of prime mining spots are sometimes hard to find, but as an explorer, I run across them all the time. I've begun to post them on my twitter feed as I find them. Welllll, guess who just got recruited into the miners guild! As a former explorer, I have quite the data base of systems. I'm sure I can find a good place to make my fortune. (just as soon as I get home from work.)

I find making credits easy i put cargo bits on the sidewinder and did a few transport missions every now and again got a good paying one so then i could upgrade to hauler.

Or even going round systems looking for unidentified signal source killing pirates or picking up cargo then deliver them
