Neither of these statements is completely accurate I'm afraid. Drive distrubutors has been proven over and over again to be INFERIOR to drag drives for maneuverability on any standard thruster ship (the myth stems from some very lightweight small ship builds which accelerate better with Distributors ONLY when using EPTs). Regarding speed and its relationship to maneuverability, as long as you are over 590 top boost speed you are still getting close enough to optimum thruster performance that you are not at a disadvantage, 590 is a heavy build (if using drag drives) but still not heavy enough to interfere with handling. Interestingly, you can start to realise some acceleration benefits from distributors when your build goes hugely overweight as well, but the bottom line is anything that increases boost speed, affects agility and acceleration the same way.
Going lightweight on life support is a bit of a no-no in serious pvp, just one accidental pa or railgun hit will take it out in one shot. But going lightweight on A rated sensors is definitely recommended, as sensors cannot be sub-targeted.
See above...
Yeah I just tried my config on EDSY and then changed the Drag Drives to Drive Distributors and it was a couple of points worse.
I'll just leave the drives as they are.
