Man I like my new vette and all but damn, the things I hate about it...

The underutilisation of the C3 hardpoint is annoying until you fit a seeker rack there. Then it all starts to come together.
Yeah, this is propably one of the better ways to use the slot.

I experimented with a PA, with a Pacifier, a frag turret, another laser for the PvE variant, a multicannon turret, and a seeker missile.

All options have drawbacks, mostly fire group related, some convergence related.

Alas, if that is the worst about the Vette, it's still pretty much the best BigThree combat related.

I used to fit a LR pulse turret with scramble spectrum there but for various reasons (jitter, angle, distro draw) it was a bit of a waste and I felt it never really added much value so relied mostly on the other hardpoints - seekers are a nice optional extra when you need it (esp when dealing with chaff spamming NPCs), think they're a keeper for now.

When I took the OTS (officer training school) test, a major part of it was testing visualization. You have to do that to use these large ships effectively.

I do have a question. It seems the corvette suffers a similar problem to the anaconda. Its power plant is easy to hit.

Indeed, MRPs, armoured PP and any chonk effects do help longevity if your shield goes down (or if you mistime a SCB or don't bug out in a timely way).

To be fair, ,my observation comes from being the shooter rather than the shootee. So vette owners, do not take this man's suggestions. Danke.

I don't remember what I put on my power plant, but I noticed it was easy to take out vette power plants at last night CZ sessions. I fly a cutter with hammers.

Any large ship has to be very careful, especially against human medium ships. Once the shields are down (which is a big boo boo generally) the PP will be railed silly, especially if the large ship is trying to flee. OC G5 makes a PP easily destroyable in a few shots, and even one or two will reduce it to 50% output which (unless you set them right) will screw with your ship.

The Corvette's large hardpoint converges alright with the 2 smalls for rails. So I use the large and smalls as fixed long range weapons.

I don't like the shape of the Corvette's nose, especially compared go the sleeker nose of the Anaconda. I feel the same way for a few other ships. Ship kits are too pricey for me!

An NPC is "potted" when it gets itself wedged long enough or bounces off the station hard enough to aggro it. The score only counts after the station blows it up. Acquiring a fine yourself ends your "break" and you must dock and pay it off. If you acquire a bounty or aggro the station yourself that's a foul and you must leave the system for the nearest IF and cannot "return to the table" until you're locally "clean" again :) The scoring table is a little subjective but sideys count as "1" with larger ships scoring progressively higher :)

That sounds fascinating! Could you please provide some video footage as I'd love to see this in action and learn more about it!
