Are you the type of individual who will shriek at the site of a mouse?? or would you find a make-shift weapon.. and clobber the mouse over the head!!??
or perhaps you're a animal lover and pick up the mouse and carry it.. out the door?

I'll be the one to blink at it when the cat drops it on the floor at my feet and looks at me with an air of, "This is how you do it, do I have to show you everything?"

interesting?
i have in the past caught spiders and taken them out the door... but a mouse i would clobber.. but hey thats just me!!
I have cats patrolling the house to keep such pests from coming into the home!! So i dont have to clobber one over the head, leaving the animal food chain in tact!!

the torturing of the wife.. is more of a worry than the mouse lol... i hope she picks up a bat and whacks his hands in an elaborate attempt to clobber the mouse lol...
that would be justice!! lol

No, but his wife might have temporarily denied him... privileges. :)

Time out as opposed to Physical punishment?
im a firm believer in the measure of the punishment should be met with the level of crime.. in the hope they will learn quickly!!
perhaps im a little old fashioned

We have cats. Never see any mice, we do however: Find the occasional gifted rat.

Whatever it is, catch and release every time.

This might not be the place to point out I have two jack russels both of which...well they a mother and daughter team and they work very effectively together...erm, it also a more rural background where hunting has a less bad reputation among the locals...

Ye that sounds bad doesnt it? I love animals and have a cat too who would enjoy the mouse better...the dogs are trained to kills quickly whereas the cat will have some sport with them...quite grim watching how he does it sometimes when he breaks their legs and then backs off to see what they do. Of course they will eventually die, but not quickly like dogs do. Hes grumpy and sleeps about 18 hours a day and pees in the water bowl to wind the dogs up...mouse would break his day up a bit.

They dont really have what ye call a spine so ye technically cant break its neck either...crushing is more effective especially the windpipe. Easily dont in a few seconds between yer thumb and forefinger, but ye will have to hold it with yer other three fingers and those claws are sharp and carry all sorts, so hold them tight cos they will struggle...

That answer yer question?

The hidden motivation of the question i posed.. was a way of gauging (Dare i say it) ones politically correct stance
having now revealed my motivation behind the question... your response equated to a person who is somewhat persuaded by political correctness and the culture of the moment
ie.. Hunting could be seen in a bad light from the general community.... sounds bad doesnt it?

Hunting is just what it is.... whether its for sport, entertainment or food, we can justify ourselves.. why!? becos it is everyones right to do so

When i mentioned knock the mouse over the head... i would eventually carry it outside-not becos im a animal lover.. but becos i dont want a stinky mouse in my home
The importance of ridding uninvited stinky guests out of my house should help one understand the need for security.. and why we have walls!! :D

imagine now the need for security, and imagine a cat whom you hope serves that purpose... but refuses to do its job...
so now the catch and release takes place.. how many times does a mouse have to come into your home.. before you recognise that your cat does not serve the purpose set for it

would you not seek to upgrade to a better cat that would do this job...
If cats were worth their weight in Gold... would you seek to pay for the best Cat that money can buy??
Security, Walls and spending is what this little test question was about :D

If trapping does not work, then stop feeding the cat.

Big house Spiders do my head in. I wouldn't hurt one, though. I have to do the pint glass and cardboard thing to get them out of my home. My whole body cringes. Mice don't bother me and nor do snakes (the same in a room together could be a problem, though).

Spiders, though, screw that, I'm outah here. Wish it wasn't like that, but it is. Won't harm them, though, just can't live with them.

Yeah, exactly. In seriousness, it's horrible feeling like that, especially in England. The spiders that do bite here, only a couple cause pain, and that rarely happens. It's psychological, but for some people it's not easy to get your head around it. I have a friend that keeps spiders and offers me help. My skin crawls at the thought, though. I'm not the only one, it's quite common.

Why is this? Why do I feel terror and dread when I see a house spider? I've swam with Sharks, I've fought full contact in the ring, so why spiders? Maybe someone can help me about this.

I find speaking severely to it and pointing at the door. Is generally enough.
Okay, sometimes I have to open the door, myself.
