While we're taking a pop at this fantastic ship … the thrusters swivel the wrong way with regards to pitch. When you pitch up the thrusters should swivel upwards (so they're basically pushing the tail down into the turn). I apologise for pointing this out as you won’t be able to unsee it now. 😆
In my case the cockpit stick Z axis is reversed :D

100% Agree the lights need a cookie diffusion on the spotlights similar to how games handle flash lights to break up the intensity and uniformity of the spotlight. It looks very bad as is.

Well there goes my OCD.
Thankfully FDev agree that it is a problem 😁👍
Thank the gods! :ROFLMAO:

I just posted this on the EDHM page

Is there any chance that the new spot lights under the Mandalay can be toned down/switched off ??

Lower engine loudness by about 25% and boost loudness by 30-50%.
Maybe even more. I have to lower my effects volume from 75% to 25%.

I am not finding the engine noise too loud but that might be down to my audio options as I run in Night Time mode.
I tried that and it became even louder. Setting to Full Range actually lowered the thrusters and boost volume. Thanks for the idea on changing the settings. It did get a little better.

I wouldn't mind a 3-position switch: off, spots, spots+headlights. SRV has one for off, dipped and full beam iirc.
In my initial post I was going for straight forward solutions.
What I'd actually love would be multiple lights plus cameras on all ships we can toggle through and turn on/off individually.
If you ever used a Cyclops in Subnautica, you know what I mean!

I agree, that the exterior lighting of the Mandalay could be improved. Especially, when you land on a planet. Not because the lights are not suiting my personal taste, but because you have to step out of the light to actually see the bodies real lighting. This has always been a bit anoying (You ride an SRV, you turn on lights and boom, you can't see anything. Turning lights off and oh wow, this body does have a cool lighting, it's just less brigh as your SRV beams....).
This is the biggest issue for me with the Mandalay, because it totally breaks my immersion when making my first foot fall...

Regarding boost loudness: I've checked Sound options and was blown by number of options I never saw / used before. Perhaps it would be better just to add Engine Sounds slider there.
