Mass Effect 4

Mass Effect 3, with all the DLC (including the enhanced ending) is an amazing end to the trilogy. The original ending left a lot to be desired but Bioware got their act together and the current game is now on par with ME2, in my opinion.

If you have played the first two, you should consider playing 3 (with the DLC!) as it has many moments that will genuinely move you.

just wanted to post this since i came across it recently.

Some things apparently leaked about the upcoming mass effect 4 and some of it sounds awesome! People interested in ED are probably pretty interested in the things i've highlighted with green!!

How very dare you, Sir! To have the impertinence to know what I as an ED player want in another game! And to highlight your impertinence in GREEN of all things!

I will have you know, Sir, that I am only interested in this so-called ED so that I may whinge endlessly about newtonian flight models and Steam keys and whatnot. Particularly the whatnot!

Good day to you, Sir!

Does anyone know if there's a way (with or without mods or hacks) to use a controller for ME3?
ME1 and ME2 had the controller support hidden inside the engine's .ini.

Loved all 3 (preferred the planet exploration and more RPG elements of the 1st game, 2 was awesome but suffered consolitis in comparison to 1, 3 had the best start LOVED the invasion of Earth, but the system map pinging mechanism was so AWFUL) and really looking forward to 4.

Mass Effect is easily one of the best video/computer game series I ever played. I loved all three games, was expecting a horrible experience given the negative feedback the third installment got from fans, but was very positively surprised. Great settings (the invasion of Earth, the fight on the moon around the Turian homeworld with gigantic Reapers in the background etc. pp) The only aspect of ME3 I didn't like was that the war against the reapers never really felt as menacing as it should. I was wondering why I was so free to ream the galaxy, to have fun on the Citadel and why Earth was able to withstand the reapers so long.
But apart from that the game was great (including the ending - at least in the directors cut version I played).

Mass Effect is one of my fav games ever, and I will buy ME4 no matter what. After ME3 and new Dragon Age I`m a little worry, but I hope they will deliver.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat, I just need to own it and try it out. If its good THEN happy endings ;)

Hope they up their game a bit for ME4 and make up some ground on the likes of the brilliant Witcher 3.

I only just found this thread, so I'm a bit late to the party. I'm actually doing a complete series run through right now. Started a biotic/soldier guy (the class that has biotics, medium armor, and shotgun/pistol specialization) in 1, continued him in 2 (changed his class to pure biotic), and now am paying him in 3. Its an interesting experience.

Personally, I love the detail they put into 1. Watch a weapon unpack in 1, and then in 2, and you'll see the time and effort they just didn't put into 2. Not trying to bash 2, but I felt 1 had more effort and energy put into it. And 2, was just a game to cash in on 1's splash. Thought the character importing is amazing.

I don't actually hate 3, even after beating it once already. Its not the greatest game, don't misunderstand. But I don't think it deserves all the hate it got.

I'm actually looking forward to 4. I'm curious to see how we moved into other galaxies, and what tech is now there too. I just hope they got rid of the ammo things from 2 & 3.

I've just (as in last night) finished #1 again on a biotic run, time to fire up 2 over the weekend I think! The DLC for ME3 was fantastic, but I think that ME2 was a better game & characterisations, even though I really missed the more open world/RPG/story of ME1.

I've not played the 3rd DA game but was very disappointed with #2, so I really hope that ME4 delivers.

FWIW I've done 1/2/3 runs to completion 2 or 3 times already which is a lot of hours, even ignoring the single-game runs. [uhh]

What's new? Will it have seamless planetary landings? The info is so small on this game!

I think people imagine too much. I wouldn't expect this game to be too different of an experience to previous ME games. No 'seamless' gameplay to be found. It's not a sandbox game. There will probably just be fixed locations and regions to visit.
Now, I wouldn't mind them to be bigger, but we absolutely should not expect MEA to be a completely open-world go anywhere you want type of game.

This.
It's not going to be Elite Dangerous vs Mass Effect or any similar game. Mass Effect isn't in any way inspired by the Elite franchise. It's a stand alone space game that inspires other games. According to interviews we don't even get to steer our ship like we were told from the beginning and things like missions and locations won't certainly be procedural generated as the creative producer has said that the team is hand placing content on all planets that we can visit.
I think it's going to be a great game, just like the other 3, but hopefully more like the first or second game than the third. But it's still going to be a space RPG game with Dead Space brainless action. And I'll going to love every second of it. :)
